I actually signed up on these forums for legit lifting advice and somehow ended up in this place.

Its fairly entertaining, but its definitely got the dregs of the internet feel to it.

if you left in 2012 then all of those memes you just mentioned were already dead by that time.

Brian Peppers and the O'RLY owls didn't originate on the misc though; they were just general interwebs humor from 07-09 or so. I knew of them well before I ever started lifting and found BB.com.

"Wow strong arms" is legit. Also miss "just take a multi and lift heavy and you'll reach your goals in no time" and all of its variations.

I think it was Really really good back in the day, and it became extremely popular and word got around, and then people started flocking to this forum from everywhere else and signing up, then we became like the rest of the internet and it's all diluted, not unique anymore.

I remember you'd log on here and literally cry laughing almost all the time, and had real unique personalities that did the funniest stuff. It's funny because half the memes on the internet started here and now they are everywhere, like, I remember when the troll face started here. The guy stealing crackers from the cafeteria and he got caught

edit: it wasnt even called the troll face, it was the cool face back then. back when this place was perfect

I forgot about chop threads. My favorite were the zoom threads though, I think that's what brought me here when I randomly found one and bookmarked it so many years ago, almost 10 now wow. Eventually signed up after I'd scroll through and be wiping my tears from laughing.

Why were the funny members banned? The reason i signed up is from finding hilarious threads back in the day. Lurked for yrs before signing up. I must admit that I don't laugh on here that much now. I guess banning interesting people will make that happen though.

If you think it was good in 2013 you missed out. It was twice that in 2007/2008, good all the way up until around 2010 thats when it started changing after it got really popular.
