My calves really aren't that good at all. The vascularity makes them look more
impressive but I have high insertions, a long tibia, and thick ankles (cankles if you will). They measure about 16.5 inches at this bodyfat and my lower is always way behind my upper in terms of condition.
Half this thread probably has better calf genetics than me, and my quads definitely overpower them. But I treat calves like any other muscle group....I've never had great results from doing them every day or whatever....I have a day which I consider an off day from training, but train calves/abs/cardio.
On this day I train them very heavy, stretch them a ton between every set with a solid amount of volume and different angles and knee flexion. Then I might hit them again with another body part if I feel like it.
But like stated before calves are easily one of the most genetically determined body parts. Regardless of cell tech you can really get the shaft with calves. The thing that makes my calves look the best is getting lean because I lose that water and fat from my ankles and lower legs, get vascular and create at least somewhat of an illusion that they're decent.Instagram - @dan_evan1

Hehe - I was letting myself pretend that we had similar physiques before you started your supplementing, and that I would have to cut 20 lbs more to be in the same realm. That is probably not the case though. No reason to get discouraged thinking about how many lbs I have left to cut - easier to work toward 215 (one day ), then 210 and so on. I am pretty sure that you had posted pics from your 195 lbs days in the last (?) volume.
What're you at now? What's the point of cutting the final 5 (?, unless weight is current) lbs if you're really not doing anything? I suppose you'll drop a bit more fat, but won't you likely return to a similar weight just a few weeks after changing calories? I don't know - maybe it's just because I fluctuate +/- 5 lbs at any given time, but sometimes those last 5 lbs are nothing more than just a goal number you wanted to hit, especially if you plan to return to bulking anyway?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Then again, I gorge myself to >230 lbs every year anyway. Just lol.*Workout Journal: We form like Voltron: BoB/Exane/NWSkier/Gin/Hamzzza/Applecat*

Fuk this global cooling. We're still in spring time weather here in the Midwest. We've got a pool and its either in the 70s and cloudy or raining. Where's my 120 real feel with humidity and sun, Missouri?

You actually do have a pretty similar look to my natty physique. I'm sure you could easily achieve the same look....and yes I did post pics from my natty days in the last volume because Spartaaa was telling me how I'm just a chemical experiment that's going to die in 5 minutes and insinuated that my physique as a natural was crap and I could never cultivate the mass he had naturally.
I was blocked moments after he saw the pics....Instagram - @dan_evan1

I actually do a lot of both....I love doing a paused stretch and a paused hold contraction on something like a seated calf raise or standing calf raise with heavy weight. Then something like a leg press variant I like to really just pump and go for hypertrophy via rep volume.

Why the fuk do I get so bloated after I eat?
- woke up
- had coffee
- pooped (was a medium-to-big poop)
- ate 2 choco-chip cookie dough quest bars with 96g pb in middle microwaved 15 secs (quest bars tasted dry for some reason, don't remember them being this dry before)
- ate 2 large bananas (no homo)
I did drink chit ton of water, but I feel like a fuken balloon now. Wasn't like this before I ate.
Am I calorie-sensitive? Banana-sensitive?
pls halp

There's been a lot of controversy over quest bars and their effect on the GI tract and the fiber content being mostly i****lto-oligosaccharides (IMO). I know for me personally I used to eat Oh Yeah Victory bars (basically the same as quest bars because I think quest bars taste like chit) and I found myself constantly constipated, especially as I got leaner.
Dropped them from my diet and was back to my regularly scheduled program in a couple days. Just my own personal experience, but I know a lot of people having the same issue, especially while in a deficit.Instagram - @dan_evan1

Fuken ded. Cum is protein ask me how I know.
Some people (like myself) don't bloat from quest bars. The sugar alcohol they use doesn't bother me at all. Fiber One bars, on the other hand, have less sugar alcohols, but a different type, that add me to the fuk up fam for 12 hours.
