Ive been hoarding money for awhile now and plan on buying something within the next 4 months. Ill have another car for the winter so rwd isnt an issue, although having a car capable of handling heavy snow is a plus. Im looking for looks, both interior and exterior, speed, and luxury. Speeds important but Ill take the car with the slower quarter mile if its much more luxurious. The car will be my daily driver, but commuting can be done with the second car. Not interested in 60k+ miles. Anything under 14 mpg is out unless the car is realllly worth it. Not interested in spending over 3k a year for maintenance. Also willing to stretch the price to 30k if the car is truly special (looking at you 09' cts-v and 08' m3) so any cars at this price can be named.
Im also unfamiliar with insurance rates. I know these cars will make my insurance retarded, but which ones will make it the most retarded? Anything I should avoid when it comes to that? Ive been researching cars for awhile and have a pretty long list, now looking to narrow it down. Really what I'm looking for is any input on the cars in this list, whether it be bad or good. Or any suggestions for cars I might have missed. That being said, Im not interested in mustangs, camaros, corvettes, chargers/challengers and chryslers. Im okay with 2 seaters if the car is worth it, but 4 is better. Im also willing to travel pretty damn far for the car, which is how I found all of these under 30k.

Don't forget about Corvettes. You could pick up a C6 or C5 Z06. Strap a blower onto either of those and you have a 600+ hp beast.

nissan 350 / 370 - ew
g36 - naw
any audi out of warranty - no thanks jeff
hyundai genesis - groce
CTS-V - interesting, but I definitely wouldn't call it a "sports" car. It's a big ass sedan.
cayman s - maybe, but under 25k?
E46 M3 - sure, but it's going to cost you to maintain it.
what car have you been driving thus far?

Can you turn a wrench. Nissan, whatever... they're not bad for working on... NSX, you'd get my attention. Audi... I don't like the electronics failure rates in them. Cadi... it's a cadi. Evo... the 8's and 9's are going to be worth more but I wouldn't say no to a X (the old lady has a new one... that I'm not allowed near until the warranty is officially expired, but it's a good car, not the raw giddy up like the older ones though). STI, rather just have a regular old wrx. Jag... not off warranty unless you really know cars, don't even think about it. e46... I'd think an e36 M3 would be a better choice at 18 or build a 335i or something. MB... lots of sl's to be had along with lots of just brand whore MB crap. Cayman and insurance at 18, I have my doubts... the insurance broker has a hard on for you if nothing else. The rest dunno' FWIW

Just throwing some other options out there OP in case you didnt consider them.
new brz/frs
used lotus
vw golf gti
or a sleeper, I've seen older taurus and buicks totally kick ass
I'd avoid the early 2000s jags, they are that cheap for a reason. The might seem like a back in the day supercar, but are unreliable as chit any probably barely works now. Also to mention the interior is very old man styled and handles more like a boat and less sporty due to the long wheelbase.
Everybody knows the TT is a girly car that gets owned by the 350z in every way possible, but the a5 is more sedan than sport and will leave you disappointed. The s4 offers more tunability, but is a 4door and kinda defeats the purpose of "sporty". An s5 in good condition is pretty much out of your price range.
Volvos are luxury not sport, same goes to mercedes, the bmw z4s arent bad from what I've seen, cayman is also good.
Honestly if I were you, I'd get an old datsun 240z and engine/tranny swap that with something newer efficient and powerful. Like an R34 engine or something. That would be a badass ride. I see one on ebay right now going for $14k in good condition.☆☆☆Nissan Frontier Crew☆☆☆

at 18 years old i would pick a sweet BRZ .
dont beat on it all the time and it should be problem free for a long time.
some of those cars you listed are pretty powerful and maintenance heavy. and to be honest, an 18 year old will look ridiculous driving a cadillac or a jaguar.
its cool you can afford to fix them in case chit breaks but its a pain in the ass to keep bringing it to the shop.

The C5 Z06 was a good car when I had it. Never stranded me and maintenance is not all that much. Do your own oil changes which are less than $50. Tires (depending on what you get and how you drive can last up to 30K miles.) I have Nitto Invos and they easily last me at least 20K miles. I daily drive my car along with spirited driving. They can be had for under $20K. I bought mine for $23K back in 2009 with 40K miles and sold it 4 years later for $19k with 95K miles on it. They have seem to stayed in the same range. Thing is they only come in manual. Now if you are willing to spend $25K you can have a nice clean modded C6 coupe for that much. Interior is much better than the C5. Any vette questions let me know. I have owned both and still own my C6Z06 which nowadays can be had for $30K if you get lucky.
