    Beta-Alanine

    What would you guys recommend me get me beta alanine from? Im thinking either cellucor c4/gold standard pre-workout or just straight up beta alanine from optimum nutrition? Would i be getting more bang for my buck going with a preworkout? Also, I just noticed cellucor c4 has three different kinds of preworkout now. Mass,ripped, and regular. Is there actually a difference?

    Don't rely on a pre-workout for bulk ingredients like creatine and beta-alanine. Plenty of brands sell them in bulk. BB.com Brand, NOW, and plenty of others sell it.

    Yes that is what i was thinking especially since i wont be taking it every single day. I actually have optimum nutrition creatine already(5g a day) so i guess its not necessary for me to have anymore from a preworkout supplement.

    clinical dose is 1.6g twice a day, any time during the day.

    however, 2g 2x per day is sometimes easier to measure out than the 1.6g

    I would go with the bulk option and take 3.2 grams in some combination every day.

    I prefer to have bulks because then I can make sure I'm getting a full dose and not limit my selection of pre's

    If you're already getting 1.6g from your pre then just shoot for 1.6g (or 2g if it's easier to measure) from bulk powder during another part of your day

    Yessir....My PRE has 1.6 per scoop (i use 2 scoops, so Im good to go), however, when im using other Pre's I prefer to have bulk on hand to be sure I'm good to go. I use Primaforce myself.

    You could buy the c4 and use it to get an adequate amount (2 scoops) or do 1 scoop of C4 and add bulk on the side to reach that amount (and limit stims). This would also be effective as a second dose as you should dose BA in the 3.2-4g range into two seperate doses (so 1 scoop c4 pre-workout and then 1.6-2g in a separate dose later in the day)

    breaking down the C4's

    Mass = For mass with added carbs (25g)
    Ripped = For fatloss (added fatloss properties) and we dropped the creatine nitrate
    regular c4 = C4 an all around effective pre-workout
    we do also offer 50x which means 50x Stronger so 200mg caffeine, a higher dose of BA, and nitrates per serving.

    All are great products, and will suit your goal at the given time buddy

    I think ill stick with the bulk BAs because they are a lot cheaper and preworkout doesnt really give me a boost.

    yeah bulk is the way to go on beta alanine. When I first started using it in 2007 I gained strength then it stopped because my ba stores were low. Anyways plenty of bulk beta alanine powders, ai sports nutrition has 300 grams for 21.36. primeaforces price is 200 grams for 17.72. any bulk brand of beta alanine is a good choice.

    Do you cycle your pre-workouts? If you do not that is probably why you do not feel pre-workouts or the boost/energy they contain.

    I'd also recommend the bulk option. Just go with whatever brand you can find for the lowest $/serving. 3-4g/day

    No i actually very rarely take it. Ive taken it less than 10 times experimenting with different dosages, timing, and ways of getting it into me. I think it has kept me up at night a few times though.

    If you train very late at night i would not suggest a stimulated pre-workout
    i would suggest something like NO3, High Volume, M5 Reloaded, White Pump as a good non-stim pre.

    This is false. Taurine is an organic acid often found in meat. You probably do NOT want to take beta-alanine with taurine as they may compete with each other for absorption.

    In other words, eating both at the same time will make it harder for your body to actually utilize both supplements.

    I read someone else saying that cycling beta-alanine is good because it depletes taurine.

    Anyway what about the heart thingie

    This is theoretical. As far as I know, no studies have actually found that beta-alanine depletes taurine in humans.

    I don't know what the heart thingie is. I did see an abstract where beta-alanine depleted heart taurine in old rats, but not 5 mo. old rats. I don't know what if any implications this has with people.
