Wow. Finished scans for the week. Racked up roughly 40 tickers for my watchlist, and 10 good highlights that I need to stare at for anot her day.

Oil/crude/drilling stocks are chiting the bed across SEVERAL companies this week. Right NOW seems like one of those historic eras of stock trading similar to the roaring 20's/2008 crash/etc. Volatility is insane, stocks are either surging or crashing all over the fuking place. What an interesting time for me to host a thread like this....

A lot of the drilling stocks that are at all time lows can be great shorting opportunities due to looming potential bankruptcy. Currently, i spotted nothing but more downside on the oil-related stocks.

Unlike last weekend ^^ when I (correctly) predicted the continued decline in energy stocks, this week I don't have too much to say. Nothing much jumped off the page at me this week, but hopefully the pre-existing shorts will continue downward.

WSFS was an interesting whipsaw that I avoided getting stopped out of - only because the huge whip didn't appear on my feeds until after the close. They released an earnings report outside of market hours. I don't like setting pre-orders outside of market hours for this very reason. FSL would have been a very badly priced entry if I had set pre-orders to get in, but you can manually buy or sell for better price during the open market (after a large gap, or whip) probably 95% of the time.

in my R&D from last weekend, I noted 10 different stocks, 8 of them are now currently in my favor (all 8 are shorts, the only 2 currently not in my favor were longs), with two of the winners being more than 10% in my favor within the week. I might play one of these style of trades this week.

No, I don't really pay much attention to the macro market. As far as respecting technicals, and capturing human emotion (through order flow), nothing plays as smoothly as individual stocks in my opinion. I feel like the index, currencies, futures, etc have way too many moving parts and all those moving parts get extremely clouded from the technical perspective. The way I see it: trading individual stocks is like repairing a bicycle, where trading an index is like repairing a Tesla.

What's funny is that there are traders who would say the exact opposite of what I'm saying. Many traders ONLY trade the e-mini, or crude, or other huge macro thing. Whatever, everyone needs to find what works best for them.

In case anyone who is following this thread is curious why I have not updated/acknowledged this one, it's because of low VOLUME. the huge spike up day we had this week (yesterday) was on very low volume relative to the size of the bar/run of price.

today I decided I'd watch it and start to go into puke mode around $41.00, which price came very close to.

If yesterdays action was supported with significant volume then I would have easily closed this one for a loss today when price came sneaking up to my exit level of 40.70. The issue is that the bullish spike feels fake due to low volume.

If you look on Friday July 10, we had much stronger volume on the friday closing the week which made me decide it was a good short opportunity. the volume that day was much stronger than the volume yesterday.

OKE update:

last week we had a nice bearish move down for the week supported with excellent volume. This week price came up, and blasted back down again and looks like it will close this week strongly below 39.50 which makes me feel nice and warm inside.

going down hard. Yesterday price ripped through and closed below the strong support & resistance level of roughly 119.44. AAPL is not on my daily watchlist though, so I can only post from hindsight.
