Yes, it WAS nothing more than a pool party. It definitely should have been shut down, but again, there was no need to pull out a firearm.

I doubt the teenagers we're plotting to attack or kill the officer. I think the cops had a right to be called, but once they got there they probably started arresting/apprehending whoever without determining who was guilty of what, which only further escalates the situation. They should've just broken it up and sent everyone home.

And apparently the PD felt his pulling out a gun was unwarranted too, because they did suspend him.

I agree that the people guilty of property damage should be arrested, and maybe the univited should've gotten a disorderly conduct, but the cops should've made sure they we're apprehending somebody guilty of a crime before they started tossing 15 year old girls around. But at that point, the cops were unlikely to find who was guilty of what, and would've been better off breaking up the party and sending people home.
