So Im finally on board with eating breakfast and really tracking my macros. Im having half cup of of plain oatmeal in the morning, and drink my protein in water as well. Strawberry whey with mixed berries

    Chocolate whey with peanut butter

Cinnamon roll whey with cookie butter

Chia seeds are good for volume, fats and fiber, too. They soak up a lot of the water and gives it a more firm consistency.

Chocolate whey goes well with anything. Bananas, nutella, resees chocolate spread, cookies and creme cookie butter. Anything.

One whole banana, 2oz of blackberries (usually 1oz of blueberries), 1/2 scoop of whey protein, .2oz of almond slivers (yes, .2oz...it's more than you think!)

A 200 calorie serving of cookie butter has ~20 grams of sugar. I'm definitely not worried about tiny amounts like that.

Oatmeal is a blank canvas. Sometimes I add peanut butter, sometimes banana, sometimes just stevia and cinnamon, fruit juice, Milksplash, or the ubiquitous scoop of whey. Sometimes I do them overnight soaked in greek yogurt as well.

One of my favorite ways is to replace the water with brewed coffee and add chocolate protein powder. A healthy way to get my mocha!

I generally like the taste of oats so usually have them plain. I don't even cook them just pour rolled oats into a bowl and pour on milk and eat like any other cereal. Tastes good to me but I guess most people would find it bland.

But if I want to up my calories l might throw in some fruit like bananas or blueberries or perhaps some dried figs. I sometimes just throw in raisins and walnuts or flaked almonds.

I have also made granola with my rolled oats. Just place rolled oats on a baking tray add some honey, maple syrup, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, desiccated coconut, flaked almonds, vanilla extract and dried berries then bake on a low heat in the oven for 15 mins. Voila tasty granola.

Big fan of diced apple and cinnamon. Then have 4 eggs on the side.

To people that mix whey with your oatmeal, how do you do that?? I tried once, and the whey just seemed to curdle (I added it to hot oatmeal). it turned into chunky crap.

I would imagine it would be the same if you added it to the oatmeal before cookie to no? Or what am I missing???

Speaking of pussies, sugar free syrup is for pussies. Why not regular maple syrup? Maple syrup has antioxidants and minerals.

Yes true, but simple sugar also spikes insulin alot, and generally makes me feel crappy after about 30 mins. I thought the general idea s to have slow digesting, complex carbs?

If you can fit it into your macros and you feel full and satisfied with it you can make it work for you. If you prefer slow digesting complex carbs that's cool too. It won't make a difference on the flip side.
