Nonsensical to blame the U.S. for the current situation just because a few US funded rebels turned extremist.

Syrians are responsible for the state of Syria. But of course, this is the a region where taking responsibility is a four letter word, and all problems are conveniently blamed on the U.S. or Israel.

Lol see so many idiots arguing in this thread. Here are some facts for you:

--the Quran condones violence and rape. Islam is not a religion of peace but a pragmatic one designed to spread Islam

--Assad, saddam, Etc...were the only ones holding the Middle East together through violence. They are evil corrupt men but at least held the region together. Either way not our business: many worse atrocities happening in Africa on a much larger scale and we do nothing

--US government has gone into the Middle East for two reasons: to support our Israeli overlords and to protect the interests of our major multinational corporations, like blackwater and exon.

--only people who have gotten screwed over by American post WWII military intervention have been the American people and the proletariat of the countries we have invaded

--we need to elect rand Paul, but since Americans are demented sheep like many of the people ITT it will never happen

    --goodnight sweet human race/freedom/etc...

Conservatives are mad and butthurt, because they are hellbent on escalating with Putin.

The Obama admin is cooperating with Russia behind the scenes. Bibi and Putin have also had discussions, and have agreed to coordinate action.

    http://news.yahoo.com/israels-netany...105827470.html

Israel and Russia agreed on Monday to coordinate military actions over Syria in order to avoid accidentally trading fire, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a visit to Moscow.

Recent Russian reinforcements for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, which regional sources say include warplanes and anti-aircraft systems, worry Israel, whose jets have on occasion bombed the neighboring Arab country to foil suspected handovers of advanced arms to Assad's Lebanese guerrilla ally Hezbollah.

Briefing Israeli reporters after he met Russian President Vladimir Putin, Netanyahu said he had come with the goal of "prevent(ing) misunderstandings between IDF (Israel Defense Force) units and Russian forces" in Syria, where Assad is fighting Islamist-dominated insurgents in a civil war.

Netanyahu added that he and Putin "agreed on a mechanism to prevent such misunderstandings". He did not elaborate. There was no immediate comment from the Kremlin.
You would be quite naive to believe that the US is upset about Russia escalating in Syria. On the contrary, Obama and Kerry see it as a way out. The only reason they cannot publicly admit it, is because Sunnis would be extremely butthurt if they found out.

The United States, which along with its allies has been flying missions against Islamic State insurgents in Syria, has also been holding so-called "deconfliction" talks with Russia.
"Deconflict" is newspeak for coordinate action.

The west is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't.

This. Intervene in Iraq and people claim we wanted to destabilise it all along. Do nothing in Libya and people complained we were allowing a dictator to kill his own people. Take Assad's weapons away and people complain we're helping IS.

If the West intervenes it's because we want to steal resources or topple governments, at the same time if we don't intervene it's because we're actually backing the opposition and want to destabilise the region.

The air campaign against ISIS is a farce; it was never a serious effort. US planes are mostly just being ordered to drop bombs on empty fields and abandoned buildings. As for our coalition "partners", they're not even bothering to go through the motions. Jordan, Saudi and the other Sunni states have barely flown any air missions at all.

It should be obvious to anyone with any knowledge of US air power and its capabilities that they are simply not being utilized. If the US were serious, ISIS would have been devastated by air strikes and routed by now. It only took the US two months to rout the Taliban in 2001, with far less available air power and far more difficult terrain to deal with.

Isis is no threat to any of the western countries, its not our fight. What is suprising about the west not wanting to spend more money than we are, and the west is absolutly not going to give lives for this unless we get a good reason to

    you dont get it yet

america is fine with making it appear that they are fighting ISIS while fighting Syrian government at the same time, obama can bomb syrian government locations to help the rebels, this is pretty much war against syria

but what do you think will happen when the syrian government collapses ? libya and iraq ring any bells ?

why does america want the syrian government gone so bad ??

^^ straight from the horses mouth, if you dont get it yet then idk man good luck to you

america does not like russia fighting ISIS, they want assad gone first

its just an excuse to have air planes there

obama approved the bombing of syrian government locations in coordination with rebel fighters, so lets say rebels are getting close assads palace, america will bomb his palace
