also LOL @ thinking being a server is hard. I was a bartender/waiter for 4 years before I started working in banking, it was piss easy and basically a party every shift. Once you clock off, you don't have to give work even a shadow of a thought, work doesn't exist outside of your clocked hours. The same can't be said in the real world. I'm 18 working as a server at Buffalo Wild Wings as a server still in highschool, and this is pretty much one of the hardest non-professional jobs out there.

brb work 9 hour shifts Sunday - Wednesday
brb work 10 hour shifts Thursday-Saturday
brb work 40 hours a week + still going to highschool

brb I worked Thursday-Monday, and logged in 50+ hours in 5 days as a highschool student. Like I work more hours than normal adults with a regular job.


I get out of school at 4:15, have to clock in at 5pm, then leave work around 2am latest on weekdays, and have to wake up for school at 7:30am. Usually spend about 45 minutes cleaning after we close doing sidework, cleaning up our sections, rolling silverware.

People think serving food is easy, how about serving 5-6 different tables at one time on a Friday night when everyone in their mother decides to go watch the NBA Playoffs. If each table has a party of 4-5, that is about 30~ people you have to serve at a given time.

Refills, Place Orders, Take orders,, take out food, clean tables, sweep the floor, Spend 20 minutes explaining the menu to idiotic morons who are too stupid to read the description in the men.............., dat chit is hard af bruh



at 2am when we close, we have to clean up our entire sections, clean ketchup bottle lids, re-fill napkins for each table, re-fill salt/pepper, sweep , then we have sidework.

you get a different sidework every shift ranging from cleaning the drink fountain, cleaning men/female restrooms, cleaning highchairs/games, cleaning all cups/trays

Heres my advice...keep working for b-dubs. While working for BDUBS, try to find a way to get experience in a trade you might like. Once you find that job, quit bdubs....Try to get into your local union straight out of high school. No college debt, making 80k by the time your 22-23, debt free.

I've been known to tip up to 50% of the bill depending on service. I wear basketball shorts and tshirts on purpose when I go in just to see if you judge me. Don't refill my glass when you see it's empty and like said above, your tip starts going down. I bring my 3 kids along too. You're the type of person that people would just walk out on after a meal.
