But...I didn't say they. Bill Geissele actually said it himself... The "G" is engraved on all Geissele triggers. The laser engraving I was talking about is behind the trigger pin inside the gun. Can't even be seen unless the gun is taken down. From the outside they look identical.

http://truthinmedia.com/house-passes...on-rifle-ammo/
Last Wednesday, the US House of Representatives passed an amendment, originally introduced by Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) into the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS) appropriations bill, that would block the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives from retroactively redefining common rifle ammo as “armor piercing” in an effort to use a legal loophole to ban bullets through the executive branch. The legislative push to protect rifle ammo comes on the heels of a failed Obama administration effort to direct the ATF to ban .223-caliber M855 “green tip” rounds, which are popular among AR-15 enthusiasts.
In addition to Massie’s amendment, two other pro-gun amendments were tacked on to the CJS appropriations bill. “Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC) introduced an amendment that would prevent any M855 or SS109 (.223 caliber / 5.56mm x 45mm) type rifle ammunition from being treated as ‘armor piercing’ ammunition. This comes after the [ATF] backed off a controversial proposal in March to restrict the popular M855/SS109 ammunition. Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) introduced an amendment that would overturn a 2014 administrative ban on 7N6 type (5.45mm x 39mm) ammunition. Both the Hudson amendment and the Gosar amendment passed by voice vote,” read a press release from Representative Massie’s office.
While the Gosar and Hudson amendments directly target the specific ammo bans recently attempted by the executive branch, Congressman Massie’s amendment more broadly prevents the ATF from redefining rifle ammo as armor piercing in the event that a firearms company manufactures a pistol capable of firing the type of rounds in question.

“The administration has banned, and threatens to ban, common rifle ammunition using an overly broad interpretation of a law that was written for handgun ammunition. My amendment uses the congressional power of the purse to defund ammunition bans from the executive branch,” said Congressman Thomas Massie.
The text of Representative Massie’s amendment states, “None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to treat ammunition as armor piercing for purposes of chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, except for ammunition designed and intended for use in a handgun (in accordance with 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)(17)).”
Townhall notes that supporters of the abandoned ATF plan to ban common rifle ammo argued that the commercial development of AR-15 handguns transformed “green tip” rounds into armor piercing bullets and that banning them would save the lives of law enforcement officers.
According to The Washington Times, “AR-15 ‘handguns’ are nearly 2 feet long and weigh about 6 pounds, making them difficult to conceal [like a traditional handgun].”
The CJS appropriations bill passed the House by a vote of 242 to 183. The pro-gun amendments must pass the Senate before the appropriations bill would be sent to President Obama’s desk.

I have a Geissele Super Tricon on one of my .308s. Don't hear much about them. It's half curved, and half straight. It's also grooved so it's good for gloves. Pretty good compromise. 2.0 lbs then 2.5 lbs two-stage.
LGS just called...my Glock 29 came in. Going to go pick it up. Got run club tonight but I'll post up pics next time I'm on.

Here's the NRA article on the same subject I posted about above. Its more detailed on the other things besides ammo protection that this amendment is trying to accomplish.
https://www.nraila.org/articles/2015...rb-batfe-abuse
Rep. Rob Bishop Introduces Bill to Curb BATFE Abuse
On Wednesday, June 10, 2015, Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources Rob Bishop (R-UT) introduced H.R. 2710, the “Lawful Purpose and Self Defense Act of 2015.” This bill would remove BATFE’s authority to interpret or reinterpret the “sporting purposes” clauses in federal law, which only serve to undermine the core purpose of the Second Amendment. Under Chairman Bishop’s legislation, all lawful purposes – including self-defense – would have to be given due consideration and respect in the administration of federal law.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in District of Columbia v. Heller that the core purpose of the Second Amendment is self-defense. Nevertheless, many federal laws that regulate the importation, possession and transfer of firearms measure the lawful utility of firearms based on their usefulness for so-called “sporting purposes.”
The term “sporting purposes” is undefined by federal statute and has been subject to several reinterpretations by the BATFE and its predecessor agency. BATFE and anti-gun administrations have exploited the lack of a clear definition of “sporting purposes” to bypass Congress and impose gun control through executive fiat. The most recent (and perhaps most infamous) example of this was the Obama administration’s attempt to ban a highly popular form of ammunition for the AR-15, America’s most popular rifle.
H.R. 2710 would put a stop to this for good and accomplish the following essential reforms to federal firearms laws:
Eliminate ATF’s authority to reclassify popular rifle ammunition as “armor piercing ammunition.” The federal law governing armor piercing ammunition was passed by Congress to target handgun projectiles, but BATFE has used the law to ban common and popular rifle ammunition, as it recently attempted with M855/SS109 5.56x45 ammunition.
Provide for the lawful importation of any non-NFA firearm or ammunition that may otherwise be lawfully possessed and sold within the United States. BATFE has used the current discretionary “sporting purposes” standard to deny the importation of firearms that would be perfectly legal to manufacture, sell, and possess in the United States.
Protect shotguns, shotgun shells, and certain rifles from arbitrary classification as “destructive devices.” Classification as a destructive device subjects a firearm to the registration and taxation provisions of the National Firearms Act (NFA) and creates a ban on possession of such firearms in some states.
Broaden the temporary interstate transfer provision to allow temporary transfers for all lawful purposes rather than just for “sporting purposes.”
NRA would like to thank Chairman Bishop for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment and the introduction of H.R. 2710.
Please contact your U.S. Representative today and urge him or her to cosponsor and support this important legislation.

3rd times the charm. Finally got out on the 600 yard range at the new CMP facility. Ive been out there twice already. First time rain had damaged some of the electronic targets and only a 25 yard range was open. 2nd time a 3 day match was going on and it was closed to the public.
But today they were all open and incredible. Shot the scar for the first time and zeroed the acog. I took some pics of the monitor showing some groups @600. Ill post them once i have 50 posts. Surprisingly, it shot m80 almost as tight as GMM. I dont know if it doesnt like gmm, really likes m80, or i just wasnt accurate enough to make much of a difference. Either way the scar17 with 3.5 acog is a beastly setup. BDC was right on for m80, gmm shot a little low at 600, but was still on paper.
The monitor said it was an nra mr-1 600 yd target. Im not sure exactly what the groups were because i dont know how big the black is on the targets. Anyone know?
