LMAO
Going on an hour long jog brb
Brb burning 300 calories after jogging for a feking HOUR
Brb sending body into a catabolic state
Brb training body to store fat reserves for future long runs as energy
Brb halting muscle/strength gains
Going on a 20-30 minute sprint session Brb
Brb revving up metabolism for the next 24 hours
Brb sending body into an anabolic state and increasing Human growth hormone by 540%
Brb only sprinting for 1/4 of the time, rest of time used to rest for next interval
Brb actually developing athletic qualities such as speed, power, explosiveness, etc.
Why the majority of people do slow steady state cardio like jogging instead of short high intensity exercises like sprinting when trying to lose fat boggles my mind. According to this study the sprint group lost twice as much body fat 18 times faster than the jogging group.

yeah this pretty common knowledge but it is hard work and some people just cant bring themselves to work until they feel like puking and others may have join pain/previous ligament pain that is exacerbated with high intensity exercises
personally hiit is goat and its good when encorporated into other activities when sprinting gets boring - bike riding, boxing, swimming, golf

Checking in....
That being said, principle of interval training generally whatever the format is pretty legit. Whether it's tabata. Or circuits. Supersetting. If you're pushing yourself on one set, and then move on immediately to something else/another muscle group, it's a good fat burner.
I particularly like the deck of cards workout with sprints, situps, pullups, burpees and/or squats.

First of all, lol at you caring what others do at the gym. They are gyming in the first place so lets give em credit.
Secondly, since we are speaking strictly bodycomposition I assume, there are pros and cons to both. Liss, may be better for heavier individuals to avoid joint pain plus this can help with active recovery and/or avoid overtraining (depending on their weekly routine is setup) since most of their energy is gonna be dedicated to their lifts this would help avoid burning out. HITT when done correctly, should be done above your anaerobic threshold and near your maximum heart rate, and at the end should leave you feeling gassed, ready to throw up and uneasy. This can be difficult to do weeks at a time combine with intense lifting 3-6x a week.
Thirdly, there isn't too much of difference between the 2 in terms of burning calories http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat...lication.html/
That said, for most ppl who aren't getting ready for endurance type events and have busy lives, HITT or tempo intervals would be good since it's shorter and less boring and actually forces people to work hard. The coming of the Manlet saviour

OP,
3 things
1. Who cares what people do for cardio? It's their body, their gains. Your avi is average at best
2. You cannot compare the two in your photo. One is purposely trying to put on strength/size and speed for football whereas the other is a distance runner who purposely tries to keep their overall mass lower.
3. You are a *******

Jogging pace will do wonders for ones health imo. Build bone density, endurance, utilize oxygen, etc...
Sprinting is not for everyone, some people might have a damn stroke doing it. Its hard, my lungs and muscles hurt only after doing a few rounds. I feel its not as safe by any means, if you're healthy it probably won't hurt but the heart pounding out my chest rush is intense and not for most people.FC: 2466-2670-1205

I was gonna say this. 2 different complete goals. Ofcourse the sprinter is gonna be much bigger. Those guys do lots of lifting (explosively). How ever they do not do sprints or hitt intervals everyday. In fact on their light/ active recovery days they do liss, to help promote active recovery.
Meanwhile, elite marathon runners who's goal is to have the highest aerobic engine possible requires them to do liss activity nearly 10-12 hours a week, at the same time they aren't concern with muscle mass and infact would be in a disadvantage if they added any.
so unless you're putting in 10-12 hours a week of liss, I wouldn't be concerned with any atrophy. The coming of the Manlet saviour
