Hey Woody!
Sorry to hear about what's going on with your family. That kind of stuff usual is blindsiding to say the least. I hope you're doing a bit better now!

Great Woody! It's taken me two years to get over the worst of the stresses that I went through but the saving grace for me was that I was with my girls (and the dog). Really good that you've got your gym set up and it would be cool, if you get the time, to see you post up some training numbers and watch how quickly you get back to where you were. Good luck with everything now

Both Woodman AND HIL back at it? Great to see you both back.
Wood: Good on getting settled back down, and settling closer to the fam. That's where you should be for now! Who knows, maybe you'll cement yourself there. One day at a time, and I hope that things get exponentially better!
Don't worry about the lifting, that'll come back with time
HIL: Nice shoulder work!Proud member of Team Ogre

3 years to the day since the last post? Jesus, talk about slacking.
Zero work with the weights to talk about at the moment, all my workouts have been in the mountains. Ripped 10.6 miles with a full pack yesterday up Signal ridge to summit Mt Carrigan (in NH)
Legs are burning worse than after a 5x5 squat volume day.
Hope everyone is doing well!, I’m gonna try to have the next update be sooner than 3 years hah

You've hiked on west coast also right? Mt Lassen is one of the coolest spots close by here as far as elevation goes. Its a pretty solid hike too...10.6 miles ain't no joke with a full pack on, sounds like you're in excellent condition my friend.

Thanks dude! The weather was perfect Saturday and Sunday. The summit wasn’t even that cold except when the wind would pick up. What’s new with you?
I did one small hike in Montana a few years ago but that’s been the limit of my west coast excursions. I want to make the trek out to do some more within the next few years. They have a 3-4 day mountaineering course in Washington that trains you then you summit Mt Rainier that I have my eye on...
Do you get out on the trail much?
I wouldn’t be much for doing it in flat ground, but that anticipation of a summit...
I still have all my lifting gear, power rack is even setup in the new house.
I’d like to get back into it, although probably never as hardcore as I was pre 2016.
I had to have surgery back in June to repair an inguinal hernia which wasn’t a fun way to start the summer.
It’s been a rough go of it the last few years to say the least lol
My man! Good to see you’re still lurking! What’s going on in your world?PRs: Back Squat- 410x1 / Front Squat- 320x1/ Bench- 325x1 / Deadlift- 505x1

That's nonsense, go down to the basement right now and pull a full body quaking 500 lol. In all seriousness, I've heard recovery from that surgery sucks, but there are plenty of people who have had it and returned to lifting heavy. Might be too soon now, but I'm sure that if you give it some more time and take it slow, you'd probably have no problem getting back to lifting heavy.

Awesome, I would enjoy that Mt Rainier summit. Yeah, just moderate hiking now, my girl says its more than moderate but she is easily frightened lol. My favorite thing to do is camp, setup a base camp, then hit some good day hikes. Miss doing that fasho. Hope the hernia is feeling better and healing properly brother.Journal: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=139898123&page=240

Hiked Mt Eisenhower yesterday (in the Presidential Range, white moutains NH).
4780' elevation, 6.6 miles round trip.
4:32 total time (2:08 from car to summit, 14 min on summit, 2:10 back to car)
The summit was socked in and windy as all hell. It started clearing on my way back down. Some sketchy spots on the trail involved ledges with a cascade of water running off from the rain storms the night before. Good stuff to get your adrenaline going.
The recovery sucked, so much pain for the first week. I can still feel that spot sometimes, but not bad. I'll definitely ease back into any weights
Thanks dude, it's feeling good other than a little twinge here and there. Never want to go through that again haha

Weather was way too nice to work yesterday so I skipped and bagged an evil hike up Mt Washington (highest summit in the Northeast- 6288’)
I took a side trail that climbed up the side of the famous tuckermans ravine and ridge walked the bowl before summiting. 4.2 miles from trail head to summit with 4238’ of elevation gain. Smoked it in 3:42. Legs are spent today...

I rarely just sit down and watch a game, but sometimes I stream the games on my laptop while I'm watching TV or doing other stuff. As always, their defense is great, but their offense is trash.
That sounds awesome. I keep telling myself I'm going to do more outdoor activities, but then I tell myself I'm too busy lol.Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5
