What if he was open carrying say a .223 hunting rifle instead? People freak out because an AR "looks scary"

Your life will never be a straight path.”
“To not only take risks, but to be open to life. To accept new views and to be open to new opinions. While it may be frightening, it will also be rewarding. Because the chances you take… the people you meet… the people you love…the faith that you have—that’s what’s going to define your life.”

It's not about who is armed and who isn't, it's about living in a country where everyone is openly armed because they're paranoid schizophrenics.
Not much difference between modern day gun-nuts and Joseph Stalin
And unsurprisingly, the gun-nuts ITT can't seem to differentiate between people who support CCW and people who don't support gun ownership at all.
No one cares about your fukin AR-15, go home and shoot at your targets all you want for all we care. Just don't bring it to a restaurant where people come to eat, fukwits.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I was a crazed psychopath bent on shooting up a place, the first people i'd target are the ones that are the greatest threat to me, like any kind of uniformed security or some guy with an AR-15 slinged around his back.
It would seem more logical that if you were an individual so paranoid about being in the middle of a mass shooting in an establishment that you conceal carry instead of make yourself a target with a visible gun on your person.

TBH I think its just coincidence that most mass shootings occur in gun free zones...because.....aren't pretty much all public establishments gun free zones?
I've never been to a zoo/park/school/amusement park/mall/grocery store that wasn't a gun free zone.
Hell, the only places I can think of that are not gun free zones are private property and gun ranges, lol.

and almost all misc gun lovers will think you dont believe in the right to have a gun at all...Its either you LOOOOVE guns or if you disagree with certain things about owning a gun that means your against them 100%. On the misc theres almost ZERO grey area.
There are only a few misc gun owners that arent retarded or act like crazy nut bags.
I own 2 guns, in my car and in my bedroom...I would NEVER open carry either.
People that open carry act like they are trying to prove something and in my opinion lack respect for all others. If you own a gun and want to carry it, conceal it, be a decent human being and dont scare the sh*t out of everyone. We dont fuking know if your a crazy fuker.Last edited by Zerafian; 05-03-2015 at 05:13 PM.

Seriously, I don't think its wrong to carry and protect yourself, but making it very noticeable is something most people aren't ready to see. If a white person carries it around, it wouldn't be the same as if someone of other color would be, such as an Arab as myself.

Educate yourself. Criminals want the path of least resistance. Criminals fear armed citizens. I'm no bank robber but I seriously doubt robbers just randomly walk in to rob banks. Makes sense that they stake out and watch a little before going in right? If the robber sees me walk in with a Glock on my hip, he'll either leave right away and come back later or wait until I'm done with my business to head in.
Oh, and I always have my eyes on advantages points in high risk areas so most likely: yes I would shoot him.

You mean like how the Columbine kids got guns that were banned due to the strict gun law banning assault weapons? Yeah strict gun laws really have a strong argument when 1) high school kids were still able to obtain them during the ban and 2) absolutely zero evidence suggests those strict laws had any effect on crime.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.
