All you beautiful lean and strong people are making me sick...
Anyhoo, I held off on posting because I wasn't sure how things we're going to work out for me once I got back to training. I've been back for 3 weeks while it's not great, it's realistic and going as expected. I tried legs for the first time a few days ago and I'm not quite there yet with lower body training. Everyday I feel a little better so I know it's just a matter of time and taking it slow.
The big news is after 25 years I left my old gym to join a new one. I worked at this gym 10 years ago when they were new in a smaller location. I used to work with local client's before I became an online coach. They moved to a new location and I ran into the owner (an old school/party friend) while out shopping. He asked me to come check out the new location. So I'm back and most of the old member's are still there and many new faces too. I'm trying hard to just go in and do my thing, but I tend to get pulled aside a lot. Last week a couple guys dragged me into the boxing room to help a newbie with posing practice.
It's a nice change and I'm having fun!

There's always so much awesome going on ITT. Spreading reps around where I can. Life has been crazy, but I'm still managing time to train. This video is from tonight and shows my high bar working squat sets from 240 to 350 lbs.
Also posting in my journal...
I also hit chest for the second time this week and the goal was 7 sets of 7 at 225 lbs in 15 minutes. I "almost" managed it, but fell short on a couple of sets. I managed 46 reps total at 225 lbs in just under 18 minutes. The burn was real.My vids: youtube.com/channel/UCXYsnKrrmhI9oPzfzkn8NsA

My wife's birthday is right after Turkey Day... After that, I'm doing one more week of caloric restriction to get rid of all of the bloat and then starts the long climb. I didn't get as lean as I wanted, but we'll get there next time. I'm also switching away from the BBB version of 5/3/1 to what is basically the beginner's version - faster progression to get my squats where they should be. Finger's crossd.
Can't wait to lose this damned moustache. Movember makes me feel like a cop in an early 1980s porn movie.

Happy Birhtday Dru, looking swole!
Cmoore, you're a freak of nature. Nice work on the cardio!
Cross posted in my journal... The scale said 186 this morning before I hit the gym to get some back work done. I ate REALLY REALLY well this week with Thanksgiving and the endless supply of leftovers in my fridge. I decided to go for a deadlift PR today and nailed it.
Deadlift
135x12
185x12
225x8
275x5
315x3
365x1

Almost back to where I was after my nasty shoulder injury. It was horrible how much muscle size and conditioning I lost not being able to workout properly for a number of months, but the muscle memory has kicked in and my right arm is almost 17 inches again the left needing a bit of catching up to do.

The operation was 6 months ago, I couldn't do any lifting for about two months after that, just lots of stretching. As the pain eased off I started doing very light weights with lots of reps, as it got easier I've gradually increased the weight and dropped the reps.
I've now got to the stage were I can push myself hard again without any pain.
I totally believe in "Muscle memory" my biceps in particular had reduced in size and were soft, they're almost back to their original size and solid again. Pecs and shoulders are doing very well too. I'm still working on flexibility as I still have an issue with that, but I feel very confident there's a full recovery not too far away.Tennis balls?...........my Biceps are as big as Grapefruits!

Awesome Clive! Good to see you coming back!
______
Started working on my ankle strength so I've added these foot hold weighted pull ups into the end of my back workout.

C, your circus antics kill me, that stepper vid is ridiculous, almost makes me want to learn handstand push-ups, almost.
Glad to see everyone else who is still plugging along and making progress. I haven't been around here much, keeping busy with work and the holidays. However, I am sticking to my plan (so far) of not going over 190 lbs. this off season. I've managed to get to 194 after some crazy re-feeds but I'm mostly hovering between 187-190 lbs. on any given day. Staying lean at under 190 lbs. over the winter will be biggest test yet since losing all of my weight. January will mark the end of my 6th year training/eating "healthy." Hoping for many more.

Welcome back Clive! Your biceps are still the size of my quads
Is there no end to your insanity? Waiting for dem ankle gainz
Man, that is freaky good! As Vytis says, in the cmoore zone.
My contribution: women at the gym are all gaga over my thick, striated . . . . . hair
I was trying to get a shot of my delts since I thought they were looking pretty damn good during my bent over rear DB raises, but the home lighting (and lack of weight) just didn't do them justice compared to the gym lighting. But I was pleased with the back humps and trap veins.
p.s. permit me a little brag: A 17-yo high school kid was following my ab workout, trying my exercises, and asking me for advice. He freaked when I showed him my abs. I have to admit, it was kind of nice to impress and inspire someone 1/3 my agePeace: Lift Long and Prosper!
