If you check my other thread you will see everything about my lifestyle. Anyway for about a week now I have been on the high protien, low sugar low animal fat diet. I have been running about 30 minutes mon/wed/fri and lifting for 45min - 60min tuesday and thursday.
The problem is that I have gained 5 pound. Is that normal? I had wanted to be cutting. Should I be taking body fat %'s instead? If so how do I do it accuratly and what do I need to buy?
Note that I am a total noob, for the last 5 years I ate nothing but fat and sugar.

Probably a really good chance that it's just water weight... Whenever you weigh yourself make sure your colon and bladder are empty and your not wearing heavy clothes to make you weigh more. If your really worried about it, do you look like you've put on fat? If not then I wouldn't worry about it; your not going to see pheonominal results within the first week. Keep with it and I'm sure you'll see results as the days go by.
