Stats don't surprise me at all. Most of people I've met who go out of their way to let me know they're atheists have been cynical and unhappy in general. Like seriously, I've had more atheists shove their opinions on me than religious people, even though they're more rare in America.

Seems like most nonreligious people who are happy with their lives just call themselves agnostic or avoid the topic entirely.

You're right. However these mistreatments are usually done by foreign companies in the Gulf. Often these companies are from the West, India or the origin of the foreign workers.

First of all, atheism was changed to that AFTER the study was completed, they took everyone who checked, "religiously unaffiliated", and categorized them as atheist.

The study’s confounding variables (as even the abstract reports, the “unaffiliated” were very different demographically) suggests the same defect found in other similar studies: they fail to distinguish between having a religion and the mere fact of having a social network (and identifying with any worldview, religious or not).

Also, it is a proven fact people of higher intelligence are more likely to commit suicide. (This does not imply correlation = causation, like OP is attempt to misinterpret data so people can draw a false conclusion to prove his confirmation bias.
