In, and my 2 kids might join. 13 yrs old, ( 5-11 and 120lbs) and 17 yrs old ( 5-10 and 180lbs)
We are going to workout together, because we all need it, whether its to loss or gain,..
My 13 yr old reallly needs it the most. He is fired up. He is super thin, eats a ton, but hard to gain, so its time to muscle him up, prime time for him. He literally grew 3 inches taller THIS WEEK. The 17yr old is a lazy bug, like his Dad, BWHAHAHA.
It should be fun, . Ill have them make their own profile and sign in, If thats cool with everyone..

Currently in the Memorial Day thread but this will be a nice segue into the next few weeks once that ends.
Basically been bumming around the past 6 years, trying to get back into shape now. Currently on SL 5x5 to get back to some respectable numbers in the gym, will probably change the program up come end June to a more volume / hypertrophy focused program.
Goals - well to cut till I can see my abs clearly and to hit 20 pull ups in one set (currently at 8).Last edited by plutoainaplanet; 04-22-2015 at 02:50 AM.

Ill join on this one as well as the other thread im in. Been part of a few of these over the last 6 months or so.
June 2014 i was 86kgs around 25-30% BF decided enough was enough cut down to 66.5kgs around 10% by the end of Jan start of Feb. put some weight back on, intentionally got back to around 70kgs maintained around this weight for a month then as from the 02 April i decided to bulk.
So goals for this thread will be to continue to bulk then probably half way through the challenge ill jump on the cut train and lean down again to hopefully 10%Start of my diet 03/06/2014 - 189.5lbs 25-30% BF

I have been waiting to post my first post since joining this community, I guess this is it. I have enjoyed reading so many things here but part of the reason I joined is for the moral support. I have been down this road a couple of time before. I have 5 children and gained a lot of weight with pregnancies, etc. I lost weight and was doing well a couple of times but if I let things slip at all, I am right back at square 1. My husband is awesome but loves to eat and doesn't even understand trying to resist food, beer, etc. So, although he loves when I have muscle definition and I feel good about myself, he doesn't always stop to think that I have to choose sometimes between going out as much as he would like and the goals I have. He has claimed that he has wanted to lose weight MANY times, but it never lasts long and my "encouragement" comes off more as nagging (especially since he sees no need to watch calories or lift a weight). So, to keep marital peace, I need to find ways for our lifestyles to coexist.
Health problems and surgery last summer and fall just brought me back to one of my higher weights since that meant hubby "cooked" (aka fast food, etc) and I didn't exercise and just kind of let things go. I have been back at it since February and I have lost 15 lbs. I am just determined this time to stay on track. I have another 30-40 lbs to lose (not as concerned about weight as body fat and muscle). I am super motivated. As most who decide to lose fat, I want it off, NOW. LOL I realize, though, that I do not want to do anything to compromise muscle.
So, I am using an app for calorie and macro counting, I lift weights and some weeks have more cardio than others. Hoping I can reach my goal this time and stay there.
It is so nice to "meet" you all!"Just keep swimming." ~Dory

Hi everyone! I'd like to join this challenge. Happy to see some familiar faces, as well as newcomers to the challenge.
I'll be finishing the Memorial Day challenge soon, so it will be nice to have this one to continue on, considering I have a lot to lose still.
My 1st goal is to go from the "obese" BMI category to just "overweight", which is still around 20 pounds away. Coincidentially, that will mark my 100 lbs lost from my highest weight, which was around 295 lbs about 2 years ago. From that, I lost around 30 lbs slowly during 2014 by changing my diet a bit, and jump-started my weightloss in december adding exercise and a more controlled diet, which I'm trying to keep up to this that and has helped me lose some 35 lbs more since then. If all goes well, I should reach that 200 lbs benchmark during this challenge.
My ultimate goal would be to achieve a "normal" BMI eventually and take it from there.
I hope everyone has great success in this new challenge. Best of luck, everyone!

I'm in on this! Just changed jobs and started working out again. Wanna be healthier for myself and my family.
A little background
I've lifted on and off for years but have put on weight from being in a comfortable relationship and just getting lazier over the years. I have a 2 year old and a 7 wk old sons that I wanna get healthier for along with just feeling better about myself again.
I lost my dad a month ago who was obese and had way too many health issues as a result. He told me to watch myself and I'm going to.
I'm about 250 lbs now and just started lifting and running again.
I workout at home. I have an Olympic bench and a couple bars with about 275lbs of weight and a treadmill in my garage.Last edited by LOU A VILLE; 04-22-2015 at 06:16 PM.

So just met with my trainer today and we did a caliper 12 ply test. Puts my bodyfat at 13.29% at 177lbs.
Did a whole new workout routine 3 days on 1 off. Repeat. Killed it in the gym today..harder than i have these past weeks.
Re did my diet and upped fats and proteins and lowered carbs. Cals are now at 2500 a day. Thats almost 800 more than the past 6 months. Let me tell you i am stoked!!
Heres some shots we took today for reference. I am getting caliper checked every week for the next 2 months to keep track on progress and improvements. Only supplement added is zma.
And food for 1 day. Cant say enough how stoked i am haha

Name is Shawn. Originally weighted 796 lbs. in 2003, lost down to 196 and joined the military by 2006. Unfortunately, gained a nice friend called type 2 diabetes and was also involved in a bad car accident. Thanks to that, I ballooned back up to 434 lbs. Luckily it's been a week and I have already dropped down to 424 lbs. now that I am back on a strict 'count your calories' diet and weight lifting. Had to go on a lower carb diet thanks to the diabetes inhibiting weight loss on a normal high carb diet, but I don't mind.

^you don't know me but i'm aware of you. i'm glad you're posting again, KingOfChaos!
...
my weight history-
08/19/09: 172.0 lbs
06/27/13: 116.0 lbs
04/13/15: 130.8 lbs
and i try to keep a simple workout log in my sig where x equals 45 mins.
the discipline to cut just isn't there right now, so i'm in maintenance/recomp mode. i'd love to drop another 4 lbs of fat, though.
my access to gyms and the equipment in those gyms varies greatly. right now i'm taking advantage of my access to two full gyms, and next week i'll go back to using a hotel-like gym for a week.
...
looks like this challenge could be a pivotal one for several of the people who've signed up thus far. stay vigilant, everyone!

Hi all!
Thought I'd drop in today. I did SLDL on Monday and still walking funny. My hamstrings are the worst. But it's really good to feel the burn again. Reminds me I am doing something other than being a couch potato. Just wish the toilet wasn't so low........___________________________________________________________________________

I'd like to get in on this.
After being 200lbs this past November, I'm currently at 172 around 15% BF (5'10") after some very uninformed cutting. I'd like to get down somewhere between 160 & 165 and whatever BF% that lands me at.
I'm hoping that I'll be happy with where I'm at once I hit the 165 mark, but if not then I'll just continue to cut down until I'm satisfied with my BF%. Although I'm telling myself that 160 will be the absolute lowest I'll go, I don't want to end up super skinny! lol
I've been cutting for a while now and I'm sick of it though, so hopefully I'll be satisfied sooner rather than later. I want to start eating more again!
Good luck everyone!

Also I forgot to mention.. I got a lot of advice from JohnCyr and it has motivated me a lot. Question, I know what kind of foods to eat, but I am 6'0 240 pounds. What should my daily calorie consumption be? I don't think its realistic for me to be able to make a doctor appointment. Also what is a simple good Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner consist of? Thank you! Hey guys! I'm joining in this. I'm already somewhat light (157 lbs) but I'm really looking to lose fat and bring out my abs for this summer. I'm going to do a keto diet (atkins) and plan on continuing to lift to keep my muscle mass. I look forward to making progress and supporting everyone

I'd like to join too. Thanks for starting this!
Current stats:
Age - 45
Height - 5'4"
Weight - 177 lbs
Not sure of body fat % but it's definiely higher than I want it to be.
My goal during the challenge is to lose 20 lbs of mostly fat. I work a desk job so my activity has to come from home or the gym. Over the years I've put together a respectable amount of equipment at home and in addition I have accumulated a number of DVDs mainly focused on interval training. After doing a lot of research, last year I built a power rack and bought an olympic bar and plates and started lifting heavy, but after a couple months I started having trouble with my hips. I decided that I need to work on joint mobility for awhile so after a break for physical therapy I went back to interval training via Jillian Michaels Body Shred and have also incorporated a progressive yoga program (also DVD).
I'm starting week 4 of the 8 week program tomorrow and I've already decided that I'll do another round when I'm finished so that will take me to the end of the challenge. I'll be spending 10 days on Pikes Peak this summer so I'm also trying to build lung function and endurance.
Good luck to everyone!

Hi guys,
I'd love to join in on this as well.
My name is Justin. I'm 23 years old and currently am at 210 lbs and 25% BF at 6'. Last year I was able to go from 240 to 180 in approximately 4-5 months with daily cardio and calorie restriction. After moving from Michigan to Florida I gave became lazy again and gave into past indulgences like fast food and soda.
My goal is to lean out to 170 lbs and 12-15% bf. After I would like to start a slow bulk to add 10 lbs of lean muscle.
I've been looking for accountability and I'm hopeful this thread will do that. Good luck everyone ☺️

I'm in...
Thank you for starting this, it's exactly why I joined. I've been looking for a challenge that is attainable with a supportive group that has a common goal and someone to exchange work out/diet tips with all while loosing weight. I was 118 at my smallest then 2 kids later at 178 but through (though inconsistent) diet and exercise I'm down to 160 ... but I seem to be stuck there. So I'm very happy to join in and do what ever it takes to break 160 and reach my goal. I'm very much looking forward to the next few months with you guys!
