Lmao you start this because I mentioned my brother? Radiologist are DOCTORS. They are MDs who go through 12 years of schooling to become radiologists. There are other specializations in medicine like Anesthesiology, Orthopedic Surgery, etc that make similar amounts.

One of my good friends is a radiologist and he admits himself they are vastly overpaid for what they do. It's a specialty that is highly competitive so that's probably why more aspiring doctors don't go for it but its a pretty cushy specialty compared to most other fields from what I've seen.

The medical provider I worked for last (in their it dept). Our senior radiologist was making between 2,000-10,000$ a day, 5x a week.

It's the most competitive residency program to get into, outside of Neurosurgery, Derm, and Plastics. That's why. It's not something you can just say "fuk it, I'm going to become a radiologist today". Lol.

I keep hearing this but I don't think it's legal for a doctor in a 3rd world country to treat a patient in America...Why would a doctor that's not legally allowed to practice in America because of education/training, etc. be allowed to make recommendations on treatment?

Same with orthodontists. Literally don't have to lays finger on a patient (assistants [expanded function] can do almost 100% of the procedures involving physical contact with the patient)....brb $1M+/yr

But yeah - same with anesthesiology - easy job - UNLESS something goes wrong. They're paid well because the risks of making a mistake is very costly.

orthos are involved with some pretty complex work though, pre orthognathic surgery cases and so on... lots of planning even if they don't physically do much

$1m/year? Orthos isn't want it used to be and it's pretty shiity right now. It's not uncommon to graduate with almost $1m in debt, hard as fuk to find a well-paying and stable job, and if you're lucky you'll work for a chain corp and make chit pay for life

I went to med school thinking I would be radiologist, but man, radiology is no bueno. Brb borderline sweatshop conditions, high demand to read tons of film, high mental fatigue. Not a lifestyle field at all. Getting hard for them to find jobs where they want to live. Boring as ****. Everything is super routine unless u at some big research teaching hospital. Pay decreasing. I would never want that job.

Lol. Prosth is dead. One of my buddy's was the last prosth resident to go through my dental school - that was 10 years ago. Prosth referrals from GPs are near existent short of absolute pain in the ass patients or TMD/completely collapsed bites. Prosth is unfortunately going the way of the dodo - which is too bad since many GPs probably restore cases which SHOULD be sent to prosth.

Not sheriff srs? Friend has a dad that shares a practice with another ortho and makes great money. Not sure how much but they have like 50 acres with a huge house, not to mention a guest house, they also have a pool (with a pool house), and his mom is a stay at home mom, and they bought each other matching 2014 Camaros

Most jobs in medicine are not a lifestyle field. Thats why most consider Engineering the GOAT on misc.
