Hey everyone, I was looking for something different this morning so for breakfast (after indulging in one heavenly slice of bacon) I came up with this recipe. It tastes decent and is fairly high in protein and has some healthy fats (not to mention enough antioxidants to kill an elephant lol). This is pretty much a meal replacement for like if you're in a hurry before work/school or whatever.
It has some carbs, but they all come from either milk or blueberries so they're not bad carbs. Just throw everything in the blender and puree it. You can freeze the blueberries if you want, which will eliminate the need for so much ice (which will make it taste better), but it's not necessary.
1 T cocoa powder (unsweetened!)
1 t vanilla extract
4 t peanut butter
1/2 c milk of choice
1/2 c plain Greek yogurt
1.5 c blueberries
1/2 c egg whites (measured raw)
cinnamon as desired
~1 c ice (you can add more/less, but more tends to make it a bit bland tasting)
Nutrition:
Servings - 1
Calories - about 460 (depending on milk fat%)
Protein - about 35 g (depends on what brands of milk and yogurt you use)
Fat - about 5 g plus however much is in your milk of choice (so if it's whole milk it'll be like 10 g total, for instance)
Carb - 40 to 50 g, depending on milk, yogurt, etc.
It's a pretty cheap shake, everything in here is dirt cheap except the yogurt basically. It definitely costs less than protein or meal replacement shakes, and it's nice to get a little variety. I will say that it's tempting to leave out the PB to cut out fats, but unless you want it to taste like death, keep the PB!

I'm with Gxp. I was going to ask why just one piece? That's so odd. One piece is not some bacon, that's a bacon.
Also, not a fan of raw eggs/eggs in shake. I prefer to cook mine and devour them with several slices of bacon.
Oh well; to each their own.❤ Humor iss all in the arm. ❤
❤ I'm just here for the snacks. ❤

Actually I cooked the eggs in the microwave and then put them in the shake...And I probably would have had more bacon except for two things:
A)Today is my rest day, so I didn't do any weights or anything
B)Yesterday was the first day I didn't track nutrition or eat healthy in 28 days. I ate like 5-6000 calories I think and probably like 2000 cal of desserts. Was trying a carb refeed to see how it would effect things. (Water retention today is insane, currently flushing out my system with a ton of water.)To live is Christ, to die is gainz

1) how old are you?
2) i hope you're bulking
3) bacon is only like 40 calories per slice
4) cooked eggs blended into a shake with fruit and yogurt just made me gag a little thinking about it.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House
