Hi all,
I'm really looking for your opinions here, so don't be afraid to be brutal, or positive.
I've always been frustrated when in the gym, once I've put my gym bag into the locker and head out onto the gym floor....
With me I'll have:
Water bottles
Wrist straps
Lifting straps
Log book
Pen
Towel
Chalk
Phone / iPod
... and sometimes some other bits.
So for a long while I've been considering designing a gym bag that neatly holds all this kit and keeps it out of other user's way.
Is this something you'd find useful? Would you actually buy it if it was priced arouny$20
Is there anything you'd add or remove from this list?
Thanks everyone.

Would you buy a "lifter's" gym bag?

If you're on the fence which to buy, try the Joe Rogan Utility Belt

Yes.
Everything but my Cardillo belt and a pair of cheap straps.
Before too long, gym trainees will all look like some kind of freakish androids, what with all the strapped-on fitbits, ipods, cell phones, headphones, fanny packs, chest bands, equipment belts, wires, and all the other basically useless and distracting junk that people these days seem to put value into.
WTH ever happened to just getting in there and training hard and heavy, and leave all the junk back in the locker room?No brain, no gain.

this is partially why I wear cut-off cargo shorts - at least when I went to a commercial gym.
At that time the most I carried was a water bottle and straps. If I used an ipod at the time it was in my pocket or on my arm.Boomer Rep Crew #1

I think a better question is: "What kind of low-rent, poverty gym makes you use your own towel to wipe down their equipment? "
When I worked out in a commercial gym, I carried a water bottle and my music player/headphones. Nothing else.
Phone, wallet, keys, pistol, etc went in a locker. I shouldn't need any of those things while I'm working out.
They also had bottles of disinfectant everywhere, and there were always clean hand towels folded and stacked next to the door to the tanning room."What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

if the gym DOESN'T have them, i refuse to work out there. "hey i'm finished, i'll just wipe my sweat off my forehead with this here towel and since there's no disinfectant sitting around, i'll just rub my sweat around on the bench with my sweaty towel and walk away"
i'm try not to be a pussy about germs, but that's nasty
as far as a gym bag, i think it's a waste to spend much money on it. there's no refining something as simple as a bag in which to put a handful of items.
if you need a bag for equipment, that maybe another equipment, but i don't know many people bringing their own barbell and plates into the gym.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

I keep my junk in my unitard. . . . .
Me too, but only to cover up my missing years of leg days.
I do, when I'm freestyle climbing and want to get a tan up at the top when I'm done.
Well played.
Exactly. Because in any other gym, including those "real" gyms (you know, the commercial ones) frown on it when you show up in your underwear at 05:30 and start working out.You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

(Sorry, the last question is in British Pounds Sterling, but 1GBP = about 1.5 USD).
Thanks very VERY much.
(p.p.s. Sorry about having to mash up the link... I only have 40 posts and apparently I need 50!)
