I get SP relatively frequently. You get used to it. Just concentrate on clenching your fingers or toes and you'll snap out of it quicker.

The old hag syndrome is REAL. Happened once! (3:13 A.M. in the morning) I woke up to the feeling of hands being clasped around both feet and it seemed as if I was getting pulled off the bed. I held on to the top of my bed for dear life and I kept feeling this weird tugging on my feet. I started to slide down the bed and I pulled myself up to the top of the bed, and that's when I started to scream for help. My cries were not heard because my vocal cords would not WORK! I then started kicking my feet violently and then it just stopped. Palms were sweaty and my arms felt like spaghetti.
Believe it or not I found out about this syndrome a few nights later on the coast to coast show with Art Bell. They called it Old Hag Syndrome. Nonetheless, it hasn't happened since and it's by far the strangest thing that has happened to me while sleeping.

I have had sleep paralysis about 10-15 times. I used to get it fairly frequently about a year ago.
Never got any of the demon stuff, just lying there with my eyes open unable to move...
The worst feeling is when the blanket is covering my mouth and nose and I am having trouble breathing which just makes me panic like crazy..*Cant Misc with Aztec Mask on because I laugh too much Crew*

The only experience I've had with it was when I fell asleep on my back with my arm dangling off my bed. At some point during the night, I could have sworn someone was holding my hand. I realized I was just dreaming, wiggled my fingers, and woke up.
I am extremely intrigued by the experiences you guys have had and would honestly like to experience them myself. brb researching ways to induce sleep peralysis/lucid dreamingSnapchat: Nutsbrah

In my experience, it has been possible to transform this phenomenon into a positive one. I liken the vibratory state one enters to the mixing of waters, like where fresh water meets the sea. The environment is distorted, the water looks weird, the fishes might look different then you might expect, but what paints your perception of it? Notice how many who are fearful of this experience report dark, demonic and downright terrifying things, while others have overwhelmingly positive experiences. Why do you think this is? Could you and your feelings be the culprit?
I suggest to brahs who have this happen regularly - try letting go of the urge to "get out" or exit the experience.

because it's not hallucinations
science can't accept the fact there's other realms and sh*t simply because we're not advanced enough to prove it. So they completely dismiss it and come up with theories for it instead.. example, hallucinations
I guess I should share my experience from like a month ago
cliffs:
get paralyzed, yadda yadda standard procedure crap moving on bed, shadows etc.
call out to Jesus for help
window is open and see a white smoke of sorts come through
immediately feel the "presence" leave the room
still paralyzed but coming out of it I look towards the window again
watch the white smoke thing leave and on the window like you would draw with your finger if there was fog was printed the words "jesus"
fades away in about 3 seconds and I snap out of the paralysis completely
I already believed but for me, this absolutely sealed it beyond any possible shadow of doubtLast edited by socrates07; 04-12-2015 at 01:33 PM.

No **** idiot, thats why i said "Plenty of CHANCES to trigger sleep paralysis."
The entire point of sleep paralysis is keeping your mind awake and forcing your body to shut down. You do this by ignoring urges like scratching your nose or swallowing your spit. These are checks your mind performs on your body to see if it's truly asleep. Oh and turning to your side to get comfortable is also one.[Dallas Cowboys][Dallas Mavericks][Texas Rangers][TCU*NCAA][DFW Crew]

I've only had sleep paralysis once but I didn't have the figures our anything. I was consciously awake, but I couldn't move. I remember starting to get super hot and trying open my eyes. My eyelids wouldn't open and my arms wouldn't move. Tried to get up by my legs weren't moving either. As fast as I realized what was happening my nervous system woke up and I was moving around. I thought I was somehow paralyzed for a second. Terrifying.

The first time it happened to me, it was around 6 am. My dog sleeps with me so I 'woke up' to the feeling of him crawling onto my chest. I thought it was way too early for him to wake me up so I looked at him to see what was going on and saw this thing with such big hands and extremely small head and thought 'this is not my dog' ahahaha. Right after that, it felt like it grabbed me by my shoulders and started yanking me while screaming. I couldn't move, I couldn't speak, the only thing I could thing of was reciting a mantra and it left.
Woke up confused and felt weird for a week. I also avoided sleeping on my back because the thought of 'is going to crawl back up' always came to mind.

I had an episode last night.
Dreaming that I was falling to sleep in a room black as death, fearful of falling to sleep. Unconscious riddles; the subconscious is a labyrinth of wtf?.
So there I was, dreaming I was dreaming about the fear of dreaming, when I fell asleep in my sleep. That's when the breathing stopped.
I convinced myself the best thing to do was to scoot my foot off the bed so I would tumble onto the floor and force my body to wake the fuk up and breath. Somehow that seemed like a good idea.
It worked. I woke up in my dream then woke up from my dream. Damn, it's getting trippy, was the first thing I thought. Then I decided I needed a mental distraction to numb the fear of sleep induced death, suffering that immobile wretchedness.
So I gathered up my cell to calm my worries with misc irreverence. But no, because there on page one, just three threads down was a thread titled something like "so that was sleep paralysis?"
Yet there was no time to get all Jungian, I needed more rest.

Like the poster said above, I usually get it sleeping on my back. If I sleep on my back and start sleeping on my side after an episode of sleep paralysis, I get it again. Probably the most uncomfortable for me and I had had 3-4 episodes in one night...
What I do to get out of it:
Control my breathing, count 1, 2, 3 and I try throw my body
If I have multiple episodes, I get out of bed and drink A LOT of water. This is the most effective solution for me
Worst episode:
Sleeping on my side
realized that I'm in sleep paralysis and I can only see forward
A girl with long hair over her face was on my bedside just watching me (looked like the girl from the ring)
Can't move and scared ****less

It's called paranoia *******. I guess you think schizophrenics see ghosts too? So if it's real and not a mental disease, explain their crazy ass delusions that make no sence and why do they think they are jesus?
*******.
Anyway I have not had sleep paralysis but occasionally when I'm that state between bein asleep and being awake and I open my eyes, I hallucinate random ass things infront of me for a few seconds. One time it was a water bottle. One time I saw a spider. Weird
