I honestly don't believe any of that stuff about dogs bred for lion hunting. Unless their purpose was to draw the animal out I don't see what essentially amounts to African wild dogs taking out a male lion.

It is a game of match ups and numbers. Females don't do nearly as well against hyenas as the males do. You can see hyena packs force lions off of kills. The cats will win 1v1 all of the time, but it is not as big of an advantage as you are saying.
