Holy cow batman! Looking at getting some 5lb plates until Rogue has theirs in stock, Strength Co. wants $56.99 shipped for a single pair of 5's. Not sure Kabuki would be any better, sheesh....
Edit: That's the most painful purchase I've ever made!Last edited by urbanlifter; 10-01-2021 at 07:45 AM.

The cost/pound for smaller plates is definitely crazy. Even Rogue is charging $4/lb plus shipping for a 5-lb pair.
When we did the Ivanko group buy in 2016, the price worked out to $1.74/lb for 45-lb plates and $2.66/lb for 2.5's after our bulk 30% discount was applied. If you opted for the 1.25 lb plates, the price went up to $4.48/lb.()---() York Barbell Club #49 ()---() ──<//>─<\\>── BWTG Cluster #11 ──<//>─<\\>──

Well my 3x Aggro OPB came in. BOY they were not joking about this bar. I really thought this pattern would not "feel" as aggressive as they were touting, but I was dead wrong. This thing is painful to bench press with. It's a very nice bar, quality wise (stainless shaft and sleeves are nice), but I'm on the fence as to whether I actually "like" it or not. Lol. I will use it a few more sessions to see if I'll be keeping it or if I'll admit defeat and move on from it. It is definitely more aggressive than any other "mountain type" knurl bar I've owned.. namely the Kabuki power bar and the Vulcan Absolute Stainless Power Bar. The 3x Aggro is just a taller, sharper knurl. It's really something else. It is more aggressive and sharper than the normal OPB by a good bit. This 3x is gonna chew up my j-cups BAD.
So I have a shaved head and I'm now nervous getting under the 3x Aggro center knurl to squat that my head will hit that knurl and bleed. LOL. I have never even thought about that with another bar...Equipment Crew #68, Ivanko Crew #47, Rogue Barbell Club #7, Mech6 Crew #30

Maybe I'll just stick with the TPB then lol. That bar is way too expensive to roll the dice on, if it's more aggressive than the REP EX then I'd probably try to avoid it for heavy volume reps. Sounds like trying to lift with the Texas Deadlift Bar, it was borderline rediculous....

weisgarb and mech,
Thanks for the low down on the other pad option, I'm gonna stick with the standard vinyl version if it's of the same firmness as the previous 2.0 which is legit solid, I also prefer closer to a 12" pad at 11.25" over 11" so in my opinion it would it would be the better of the two offerings.
I'm probably gonna get the 3.0 and give my girl the 2.0 at some point so it'll still be around our home gyms.

Yeah, I probably didn't plan this out very well, my Equalizers sold MUCH faster than I thought they would. In the meantime my most painful purchase ever came today, 5lb plates from Strength Co. Very nice looking plates, they have the older York look to them and the rim is machined nicely. Should pair well with the Rogue plates until they actually stock their own 5lb for the deep dish set.

The castings look great--I suspect they are better than what you're going to get from Rogue. The pictures I've seen of the deep dish plates (as well as one kettlebell I bought) that are coming out of the Michigan plant are a bit rough. I don't know if it's an issue with ductile vs gray cast iron, but the kettlebells I got from the Ohio plant were much better. At least the sides and backs will be smooth from the machining, and Rogue is a little cheaper than the Strength Company.

The ones I've seen aren't bad, but when the light catches them at an angle you can see areas of the finish that aren't at the same level as those two from Strength Co. I still think you'll be happy with them.
As an example, look at the 45 lb plate Brian Shaw is holding up at 3:16.

I'm not too worried about the paint finish, I've just been star stuck at how flush those things seem to fit together on a bar. Looks precision cut to me, the insides can have some rough spots. To be honest, that's just in line with the old York DD's they copied LOL. I need to dig up my old post on this subject, said maybe 2-3 years ago there would be a market for someone to run with the old York DD line....

I haven't had my hands on anything with cerakote, but it appears to have a matte finish as opposed to the e-coat which is shiny (and somewhat slippery). All things being equal, I'd expect cerakote to be have more grip, but since the finish is thicker, it'll "fill in" some of the knurling. Cerakote bars almost need more aggressive knurling to start with to be on equal footing with some of the other coatings.

I was quite perplexed by your opinion since it's so opposite of what i observed and others too. I just checked and it's possible the Bella bar has a different knurl vs Ohio Bars and Curl Bars. My C-70S(a shorty ohio bar) and my Curl Bar both say they have the same "ohio knurl". Vs the Bella bar is described as "carefully refined knurling for a firm but non-abrasive grip" but not as an Ohio knurl as other mens barbells. like for like cerecoat is more grippy is what you're going to hear everywhere else. E-coat is indistinguishable in feel from hard chrome in my opinion.
