25 bucks, thats the equivalent to 2 protein purchases from bb.com.

pretty sure shipping isnt going to get better since ups/fedex switched over to charging the dimensional weight or actual weight depending whats greater.

id rather want bb.com looking into smaller/local companies who offer competitive prices to compete with the big guys. i know golden state over night who service most places in CA/AZ/NV/NM and charge similar prices. best thing about them, shipping in CA/las vegas everything is usually an over night delivery.

They already have...They are using a company called LaserShip on the east coast, and it is completely horrible. Ordered last Sunday (3/22), and my package was either missing or still sitting in LaserShip's PA center by Friday. I called BB.com support, and like always went above and beyond and reshipped with 1-day. Unfortunately they used LaserShip again, it has an "expected" delivery date of today, but is still sitting in PA (again) as of right now.

I think everyone is missing how Amazon works. Most of the products you are buying are from 3rd parties at Amazon that pay for storage fees. These costs offset Amazon providing free shipping. Bb.com is selling their own products they purchased not someone else's and charging fees

Not to mention as big as bb.com is Amazon basically has unrivaled shipping rates. They are so large of an account UpS and FedEx make only pennies per shipment because of the volume. UPS losing Amazon as an account would drastically effect their yearly revenue

Here are some things that people at BB.com need to consider for a program like this.


BB.com will make all their money on this program not from the people that use it(at least not directly), they will make it from the people who dont use it.

For $99 dollars a year you can offer free 2 day shipping.

The fitness industry is the king of people making new years resolutions only to quit mid Feb or early March.

Do you realize how many people will spend the $99 for BB.com prime in January, order 2 tubs of protein and then not order a single thing the rest of the year?
Lots of them.

You just ended up making a ton of profit on that customer. You basically sold them 1 tub of protein for over $150.
You will have hundreds if not thousands of people who do this.

Its kind of like the insurance business.
Insurance companies will lose their ass on the customers that make a claim but they will more then make up for it from the thousands and thousands of people who never make a claim.

Basically if you offer free shipping with a $99 per year(not monthly) membership this will allow the people who do a lot of ordering to save some money that will be paid for by the New Years Resolution people who always give up. LOL

By the time March 1st rolls around you can park in the front.

Plenty. Even though I have spent over $1500 on sups (you can look up my account mods) in the last year at BB.com.

I have spent well over $700 in that same year buying some sups at your competition. And most of that $700 was spent on Sups that BB.com offers but I got it somewhere else.

If you locked me into a $99 per year membership I would have ended up spending that extra $700 at BB.com instead.
Even though I would end up being one of those customers that goes well over the $99 in total shipping cost for the year, BB.com would more then make up for the loss in shipping revenue from people like me spending that extra $700 at BB.com instead of your competition, and you would also make up for it from the New Years Resolution crowd.

Another example of that when you get someone to commit to a plan it makes people like me spent more to get the full value of the membership.

I have a good example of this.


I became a member of a Golf club about 6 months ago.
Before becoming a member of this club I use to play golf at 5 or 6 different clubs because I was not locked into playing at any golf course.

Now that I am locked into my golf club I have been playing golf almost exclusively at the club where im a member to justify my membership fees.

This is the same exact principle that applies to having a membership like Amazon prime.


I am 100% sure due to all the things I mentioned above and more this would be a net gain for both BB.com and your most loyal customers.

Me too! Mine is around $20 this year, two bulk orders. Anything around or less than $30 should be nice.

for kicks... i went to the store to see how much shipping is for a 4lb tub of protein, 1 pre, and 1 intra... $8 to ship... I guess if someone makes a typical monthly "maintenance" order then maybe....maybe $100 membership is a good deal if a few extras are included

My order in Jan contained, 75 serving SAN, 3x907gms of protein, 3 bottles of fish oil. 10.XX shipping.

Next order was 8 tubs of pre.. something like 9.XX for shipping.

$100 would be a good deal with extras (depending on what extras as well). Otherwise, people will just hop on to Amazon and use prime videos and all the extra stuff that Amazon has to offer.


With Amazon prime's registration growing, i wonder how many would spend 100 here and 100 on prime.

The best thing about Amazon Prime in the UK, for me personally,is that you can get your parcel delivered to your local convenience store, I have one less than 5 minutes walk away, and it is open from 7am till 11 at night. That is great if you and your partner both work during the day ,,I have also heard stories of courier firms pulling all sorts of scams, when they are supposed to deliver to home address's. A convenience store is always manned so there are no ifs or buts about not being able to find the address, giving to a 'neighbour' {could be someone not next door but several doors away}, or claiming there was no one in but there was.

Ahh... this is interesting and nice! For me, UPS used to deliver to the apartment office. FedEx folks just leave it at my door step. Since its an apartment, it doesn't bother me that much. Living in a house, i would worry!!
