PHAT Week 5 Update
Updates for Monday and Today (Wednesday).
Monday's Leg Workout Rating: 10/10
Summary:
Got a ATG Squat of 365lbs for 1 rep, which was shocking since my ATG is usually up to 315's.
Got a Parallel Squat of 365lbs for 2 reps. Lift off was weird since I went to a new gym and the hooks were placed differently (I like to have the hooks placed at shoulder level but this one was more towards the traps )
Got a 405lbs for 2 reps on Conventional Deads. Some scrawny kid was ego-deadlifting next to me. Surprisingly, he didn't get injured doing 425's for 1rm with improper form
Finally did more than 135's for Front Squats. . now I'm at 155's hehehoho
Wednesday's Back/Shoulder Workout Rating: 10/10
Summary:
Starting to get used to the new weight belt. .
Got 225's for 3reps on Barbell Rows. . and a 1rm PR for 245's as well! (I used to do 245's years ago, but it was with improper form)
Got a PR on cable rows. . but I don't really take note of the weight heh
Got 95's for 5reps on Dumbbell Shoulder Press. . hoping to do 100's next, which would be my PR **fingers crossed**

sure no problem lol.
Big calves mayn . You don't know a lot of Asians naturally have big calves? Even if they are unathletic and don't lift they still have solid calves. I didn't get those unfortunately....sighhhh
at all the squats going on in here.
yoojungl- that dog gif is hilarious haha. Are you working on your front squats as well? I know that koweanguy doesn't like em.
Congrats on some more PR's koweanguy. Do you still have similar goals that you had over a year ago?
Yea buddy. Erbody wanna be a bodybuilder but don't nobody wanna lift this heavy azz weight. You do it doe

I went through that myself in 2012 (i think?). Used my back to deadlift 365. . got it up, but felt my lower back snap while letting it down.
Got injured for 12 weeks or so. . not gonna lie, I had so many dark thoughts while I was immobilized in bed during that time O.o
Never knew it was a hamstring exercise back then
Had a grittier lift than that on Thursday!!!
calves are my weakest area. I'm actually going to post a video where you see how little my calves are O.o
Sigh, I am having trouble mustering up the mindset to train them consistently
And sorta similar goals! Biggest priority has always been on the Big 3 Lifts ever since I started logging with ya~Last edited by koweanguy; 02-07-2016 at 09:35 PM.

Phat Week 5 Update
Had an overall great rating these past three sessions.
Thursday's Leg Workout: 8/10
Went with the usual workout template.
Had a good session of 365 x 2 and 385 x 1 on my heaviest sets of Squats (not ATG).
Had my eyes on 405 but I didn't like how I failed to reach my rep range of 3, so I dropped down to 315's to rep out 3reps.
For Conventional Deads, I did 6reps x 315lbs when my goal was 12 :/
I used a belt for my next set, but I only got 5reps. It gets in the way of my breathing, but I'm sure I'll adapt to it.
Bummed out that I fell short on my lifts, but my front squats are improving~
Friday's Chest/Arm Workout: 10/10
Started with Flat Dumbbell Bench.
The gym I went to only had them up to 110's, so I improvised.
Ended up with 130's for 3 reps, 135's for 3reps, and a PR of 140's for 2reps!!
Then I went with 3 sets of 20reps on the incline barbell bench (haven't done barbell inclines for almost a year )
And did a crazy workout for bicep curls. 45lbs barbell at 36reps, 35reps, 40reps.
Sunday's Upper Body Workout: 10/10
Changed things up and did barbell bench for starters.
Warmed up with 20reps on the 135lbs for 2 sets. And worked my way up to 275's for 3 rest-pause reps.
Did 20reps as warm up for pretty much every exercise.
As for pull ups, I got a total of 20reps (did 3 reps, got off, quickly did 3 more, got off, repeat)
And got a new PR on my HIIT (treadmill) Wooohooo!!

Really like using the slingshot some days. I like to think of it like training Rack Pulls for your Deadlift.
Hit a rep PR for 315 conventional deadlifts the other day with 10 Was so happy when I hit 7 not too long ago and it was one of those days where you could just feel you were going to hit something that day. Planned on only doing 4 reps, got to 3 reps and said...I can do 5...got to 5 and said can I get 7 again easy. Once I hit 6 I knew I could get 8 and once I hit 8 I decided I'm not stopping until I hit 10. Then added 5lbs to my 1RM after.

Awesome PR ..... you're putting us all to shame Angela: most guys will never get a 245 squat ATG!
Fcuking gritty Brian ... seriously heavy DB pressing and you are taking those through a great range! So nice that you even have to stack more DBs on top of the 110s
Squats are sounding really good as well ... very cool to get 365 ATG
Interesting with the belt .... I'm the same as you: I've been lifting without a belt and I find it really strange to try to wear a belt for squats, and even stranger for deads"Better to wear out than rust out!"
Squat 165kg/363lbs
Deadlift 190kg/418lbs

Thank you
Ate a pound of breaded & seasoned tilapia as a reward!! Wooohoooo
And nope, it was LifeTime Fitness. . worst gym for its price =____=
I used a guest pass to take advantage of it being a high-end gym (costs 80-100$ monthly)
. . yet it is FULL of mediocre people who train chest/arms 5 days a week
