Job search help!!

If anyone on here is from Kentucky I could really use help finding a job there. I'm an AutoCAD designer, mainly environmental engineering but have done about every form of drafting. I'm engaged to a girl from London Ky, and need to move there ASAP. Anywhere with in about 50 radius of London would be great. Due to circumstances beyond our control she can't move to where I am. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your best bet is to do remote project work for a big firm. You'd know better than I who those are.

So you're quitting your job and moving to an area so desolate and remote that work is non existent, and your fiance REFUSES to LET you take a lower paying job?

No bother, just a bit of razzing.

One of the issues you're going to find is that the pay scales are completely different between somewhere like Charleston WV and London KY. Even if you did find an equivalent job, it would pay less. There's nothing really out there either in terms of careers to switch over to that would make equivalent pay with little experience unless you went into something like long haul trucking... which would be a very big change in careers.

You're being put in a sh*tty position.

I applied to a couple jobs in Richmond, but that's like an hour's drive from London. I don't know, hopefully I'll find something soon.

Isn't London coal country? From what Ive seen on documentaries there isn't much in the sense of job diversity there. Its work in the mines and dig coal or be a former minor who is now management.

What specific steps and actions are you taking? What is your approach ?

Mainly job search sites. I can't ever get down there during the week to go door to door looking. I have talked to a few places in London but I always have to miss work at my current job to do that.
