    Best shoes for cross training

I really need a new pair of shoes for my workouts. I currently have some Nike shocks and don't like them too much. They're really not doing anything for me. I'm looking for a good pair of shoes for both weight lifting, and also moderate cardio. I'm not doing anything really heavy or serious like with squats and deadlifts, and I'm also going to be sprinting mostly with HIIT cardio workouts. So really I need a good pair of shoes for both of these.

My friend who is currently in the Texas State Trooper Academy has a pair of Nike 5.0 Trainers and he says he likes them. Says that several other guys have them and they were even recommended by his trainer. I think these might work because they do a ton of sprinting and bodyweight exercises.

I don't care what brand it is. Looking for something affordable. But if only pricey shoes are available, I'll fork over the money. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Lot of love for the Reebok Crossfit Nano 4.0 or Nike Metcon 1 (if you can find the Metcon). Nano 5 should be out this year...not exactly sure when.

Another vote for the Reebok Crossfit Nano. They are kind of expensive but you may still be able to buy an older version for a bit less. They have enough forefoot cushioning for cardio but not so much cushioning that it negatively affects your lifts.

I have two pairs of Nanos (1.0 and 2.0) and got them for around $50 when the Nano 4.0 was out (one from jimmyjazz and one from reebok.com with coupons). Pretty much a do-everything shoe for me. I have oly shoes too, but it's so much easier to have one shoe for most exercises. Once my 1.0s wear out, I'll probably grab the 5.0s.

I bought the Nanos for cardio but was pleasantly surprised at how they felt when I did squats and power cleans with them. Very solid and grounded.

Nike Metcon is supposed to be amazing.. Just can't find them in stock anywhere. I wear the Reebok Nano 3.0 for all my lifts at the moment and they've been great.

Wow, really was not expecting a unanimous vote on a single pair or two of shoes, lol. Okay, I'll see if I can find a Reebok Crossfit Nano or Nike Metcon.

Oh, wait! You said cross-training. Nevermind.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

See if you have a reebok outlet store near by. You should be able to get some nanos pretty cheap

I lift in Nano 2.0's, grabbed them about 6 months back or so for ~$40 from a Reebok sale that Bench905 posted. I like em.

IDK op if you are just running and doing body weight excercises sounds like you would just want a running shoe?
