I don't think it makes a big difference for most - maybe a slight preference all things being equal, but all things are never equal and given a quality product at a price I can stomach I don't think the past of an owner is going to dissuade me.
My memory of the Trutein business, although it has been a long time now, was that there was some sort of rubber particle in a tub and the way the owner and reps responded to being called out about it was pretty bad. Don't really know what came of that except that it's no longer recommended like it was before that happened.

Yeah, I remember when a number of brands that had poor reputations beforehand started doing bigger sales and slowly but surely started creeping up on lists of "recommended products" without changing anything.
I've recently dug through some older posts from this forum and this place used to be ****in' RUTHLESS. I remember an MHP rep coming in here and fielding questions about Myo-X and people just ripped into him with "okay but how does the specific compound effect serum levels" and "does this work without any sort of hormone demodulation" and like MAD scientific stuff. Nowadays the whole forum is just reps pimping their products and dudes who don't lift high-fiving each other for how many supplements they can afford to buy.
I'll be the one to say it.
I think it depends on how checkered the past is. For example, there have been people behind companies that made decent products who had some shady pasts but that had nothing to do with their supplements. Then again you've got guys like Matt Cahill, who did hard time for mixing DNP and Baking Soda in his kitchen and selling it as a weight loss product, THEN the whole Craze thing AFTER HE GOT OUT OF PRISON, and people STILL buy DS products.***THE AFRO POPE: "The Man Who Never Gets Mad Online"***

Grain finished isn't long enough to allow the marbling to take place, unless the grain is uber caloric.
I much prefer cattle that have been given grain for 6 months, then finished with grass the last 3-4 months of life. The fat deposits are established during the bulk growing part of the cow.Krispy Kreme Krew Forever.

That's actually a thing as well? Learned something
My view has changed on that significantly actually. I've been leaning more towards your sentiments on this subject for awhile now
I've been using just Metabolic Drive and Dymatize Elite Whey and Casein for the most part. Tried out two tubs of the Quest recently, liked those as well and I trust them.Completed Logs & Reviews:

Nice
Id rather stick to say an XF that lists specific amino acid content or companies that have third party testing. Anyone could lie on a label, but Dave has never given me a reason to distrust him.
For all the flack ON gets, I have never seen them fail a protein content test. Are they the best tasting? Debatable. But they still arent a terrible purchase.Controlled Labs Warder

Well I can and apparently it seems necessary.
MusclePharm Arnold Series Iron Mass label: 40g vs. as tested - 19.4g (link).
Not only this, but after they were called on it they circulate misleading tests. So why the f*** do people still support this company?
I see Reps preach about 3rd party tests turn right around and talk about how much they like combat bars.

Whey-Smooth is legit. Need to get some more of that. Just grabbed a 4lb of Beast Whey cause it was on sale, at a store I could get too, and I was right out. No idea of the quality on that one. Normally I've been getting Select, Whey-Smooth, or Whey-HD. Have yet to try XF but here good (amazing?) things. Unfortunately the CDN dollar is still in the ****, so ordering from BB.com has not seemed overly worth while lately. Hoping that will change at least slightly before I need more.
Not sure about the Serious Mass, but the protein is frequently on BOGO, so there is your answer.I'm the clever one, you're the potato one.

Skimmed the thread, but to address the original point. Human nature has a lot of components, conscience, loyalty, greed, ect. Yes even with me i love the quality of CL, BPI, and Vega, and i will always tote their products, and buy them even when the slopes are slanted against um. No matter what i may say though or what i hold in my heart, its hard to pass up four pounds of Phase 8 for 30 dollars or less. Other companies which have had issues in the past do seem to be making strides in the right direction, partially brought on by the competitive nature of the industry with front-runners like CL and BPI. We get companies like MP beginning to disclose full ingredient profiles like we see in the hardcore series. Perfect? No. But we ARE getting somewhere, even though the rate at which gimmicky ingredients are being tossed about seems to be exponentially increasing. Just like the customers on this site, no company is perfect, they all just fall on different parts of the quality scale.
