Thanks, mate. I'm just glad no one asked, "Tom, what do you think?" because I really wouldn't have known what to say other than, "One more rep!"

Plus my goblet squat is the only one that gets that low.

Thanks...still not as much as I wanted. I was going to go for DL triples, too, but my rhythm was just blown out.

Funny thing. I didn't now I was going that low until I looked at the video. Those might have been my best squats ever.

    1x1x95
    1x1x115
    1x1x135
    1x1x155
1x1x185 - About what I expected in the ratio from the Smith machine transferred over to free barbell lifts.
    3x5x155

    Pendlay Row
    3x5x125

    Light Squat Day
3x5x185 - Played with bar placement, went deep and slow to try to figure out my form again. The Smith really messed me up as far as my form goes. Had some pain in the soft tissue around my hips. I think it's just one of those things I have to get used to and will work itself out.

    Later, that same day...

Dumbbell Incline Bench Press/Incline Chest-supported Row Supersets
    1x2x65
    1x5x55
    1x5x50
    3x5x45 - Slow and paused

    Cable Crossover
    3x8x20

    Nautilus Nitro Lat Pulldown
    3x8x100

It's so nice to be back into the rack and free weights again.

Solid workout, and after reading about the challenges from the Smith machine, I am glad I did not use it, I was so tempted too when I first started.

Good workout Bear, what was the temp today up there in the far north? Good to see you are back to using your rack and free weights again. Still crushing those incline db presses.

It was 34. Not too bad, but the bar was still cold enough that I had to cup my hands around a light bulb between sets.

I was really hoping to get another rep with the 65s. I almost got past the halfway point, but I couldn't quite push through.

Really good sessions lately on here. Loved the conf. call thing

My only concern would be people misunderstanding the grunting and straining noises if one accidentally went off mute .... !

Missed this yesterday Tom. Helluva workout! Strong benching for just coming off a winter on the smith. Looks like a good weight to get your squats dialed in again. I used to squat (terrible and high) on the smith thinking I was all strong with 3pps....then I tried real squats....humbling experience to say the least lol.
Hit a ton of volume as well, you have been killing it lately. Good things to come now that you are back in the rack

Thanks. I've had to be pretty flexible with my workouts the last few months. If I don't do what I can when I can, I don't get to do anything!

I had my own struggle with squats again today. That Smith wrecked me. LOL

Nice way to get it done Marius. Incline curls are tough! Back when I was doing DB curls, I was always amazed at how much tougher sitting on an incline bench and doing incline curls vs standing DB curls were.

Hopefully you sleep better tonight. Lack of food, I am well familiar with that as well and feel your pain there .

    Keep crushing it man.

Considering I was pressing 135 for a triple and hitting a power clean and press for 145 in December...yeah. I'm not too happy with where my strength is right now.

Tons of work in today Tom, despite not feeling tip top strength. Glad you are getting the squats dialed back in, I can't imagine relearning the mechanics after the smith is easy. Couple weeks and you will be back in PR zone, just keep battling.

Thanks, Shawn. I guess we'll see what happens when that form is actually grooved. Had a weird pinchy feeling in my hip in the second set that warned me I didn't have my hips moving right. Third set fixed that. Maybe next week I'll get the pattern throughout all my sets.

It helps to remember where I came from. I'm actually grateful that I'm starting back where I am and not that I have to come back from zero after some kind of a deadly illness or something.

Nice job, that a lot of work in there. Presses are so hit and miss they will come back fast. I lost alot of ground on them and they are slowly giving me a rep back now and then. Same with squats once you get yourself dialed in to a form that fits you its up up and away.

I know that's true. My form is still iffy right now, looking for that sweet spot.

Nice session even though you say you weren't feeling it. Pretty good volume on the squats for sure, and the OHP is a silly exercise... I'm not even sure why any of us do them.
Don't listen to me, I'm in terrible shape.
