Why? What's wrong with it? HTC recognized that the HTC M8 was a superb phone but lacked a few things such as a great camera. Well, they fixed that by installing a 20MP camera with optical image stabilization. They upgraded their hard ware (810 processor) and implemented Sense 7 together with Android 5.0. They did what they had to do without overdoing it.
There's a saying that goes: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Nothing is broke with the old M8 but its a flagship phone so it always have to keep up with the competition.
M9 Pros compared to M8 but not necessarily better than S6.
- same aluminum body which is great. People are just excited about the S6 change because its a big change compared to the plastic parts.
- ultrapixel camera moved to front.
- 20mp rear camera, better than M8's but no OIS
- SD card slot
M9 Cons: Not really a negative but more like how it compares with the competition which right now is the S6.
- 1080P screen when most flagships (except Iphones) are going Quad HD.
- Snapdragon 810 - this is an upgrade but its just unfortunate that Exynos 7 is beating the hell out of 810 on benchmarks even before it's released.
- Camera aperture f/2.2 which is not bad but will be always compared with S6's f/1.9.
- No OIS on camera.
- thicker than M8 (subjective)Steam - jinda28

IMO, T-mobile has made phone price irrelevant for me.
They don't do contracts but rather they finance the phone @ 0% interest for 24 months so for example, take the Note 4... At $700 full price, they basically add $29 bucks onto each month's bill, however, after 12 months, you can elect to get a different phone and they will pay off the other 12 months worth of payments for you automatically.
So you basically get a new phone each year and only end up paying for half of the cost of the device over a 12 month period.Sig line can't be a novel

Ugh. that sucks because at that point, you've probably paid more than what the phone is worth and could sell the phone and get more money for that vs what Verizon would give you.
50% is a sweet spot because it seems like most devices have about a 50% depreciation after a year and really don't go much lower than that unless it's a really old device.Sig line can't be a novel

Yeah thats another thing why the prices are really irrelevant. People usually pay about $199 for a 2 year contract or do the EIP from TMO.
I'm on the old TMO Jump program (upgrade after 6 months), and its not practical keeping the phone more than a year because you have already paid half of it. Best time is upgrade from 6-12 months.
New Jump program requires you to pay at least half (so 1 year) to be eligible to exchange so must upgrade immediate upon eligibility to avoid paying a lot more than half.Steam - jinda28

Some of you need to learn how to take care of a battery. Do not let it get below 50% if you can. DEFINITELY do not let it die completely. Some articles will say overcharging is bad and some say it's not a big deal b/c the phone's software will stop it. Probably manufacturer dependent.

Nothing wrong with letting it get below 50%. Software also prevents your phone battery from dying, it shuts off at 1-2%.
The only thing that's actually damaging to the battery is heat, which happens intrinsically by using or charging the phone.. If you never let it get below 50% though, you probably have limited use and have to charge less so i guess you're rightBut that's just my opinion... Don't get all BUTTHURT if you don't like that opinion.

We must not have read the same article.

To get the most out of a lithium-ion battery, you should try to keep it north of 50 percent as much as possible. For the most part, going from all the way full to all the way empty won't help; in fact, it'll do a little damage if you do it too often.
Running the whole gamut on a regular basis won't make your battery explode or anything, but it will shorten its lifespan. You are the only problem you will ever have and YOU are the only solution.

One m9 looks pretty fuarking sweet. 1080p screen with a larger battery > Quad HD screen with small battery. I hope the battery life surprises me and the CPU makes a big difference with the S6, but IMO seems pretty destined to failure, even with a more energy efficient CPU, it doesn't change the fact the one of the biggest killers of battery life is on screen time. Double the pixels to push out and make the battery smaller = das not it mane.

Rumored S6 Active surfaced.
Apparently, with 3500 mAh battery and waterproofed.

Bigger battery along with ditching the back glass is what they should have done to begin with the standard S6.
SRS, the only thing a glass back is good for is shattering. HUGE liability with the Nexus 4.
This happened to mine and it was in a case too.. just hit the corner of a step just right and the pressure of the impact went right through the plastic case.
It's ok though, I improved it's aesthetics 10 fold.

You can still use rebooting to stock recovery by pressing steady Volume Up + Home Button + Power in that sequence. Do not let go until you see the screen change. Then when you are in the recovery, you can just choose reboot system.
You can also choose factory reset and clear cache from there.Steam - jinda28
