Well just got out of a meeting with my boss. Turns out I'm gonna be getting a raise at the end of April.

Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing...he said he is expecting even more work out of me next year

Congrats! Meetings with the boss and raises are most times a Catch-22. Good that you get the recognition and extra money, but then they expect more from you. When will this world learn from unions? Get more money each year and do less. Now that's my kinda raise there.

Thanks. Fortunately, I was slacking last year, so for them to expect more out of me...well I guess I can handle that. Just don't tell them that...I have this racket going cause they have no idea how long it takes to create a webpage. They think it takes days cause if they had to do it, it would take days...but for me, minutes.

I got good feedback on my interview this morning, proceeding with next steps(per hiring manager)
I hope I get an offer letter by next Tuesday, when I have my 2015 goal planning with my prick manager
I'm going to open the call with "my top goal for 2015 is to get the hell out of here"

But my friend who has been working her butt off at a company that doesn't appreciate her at all, was promised a raise and now they are pull sh*t with her so they don't have to give it to her. Don't even want to let her know about getting a raise since I feel bad.

The Bayou. Great Cajun food. Hundreds of beers from around the world. Cozy place with live music. ~650 S. State St. (100yds south of the Mercedes Dealer).

Sapa Grill (sushi) 700 S. State St. (100 yds farther south than Bayou). Great menu, chill place with hhnngggg girls staff.

Canellas (Italian) 500 S. 200 E. (One block east of Mercedes dealer, one block north) Family owned italian food. Mellow atmosphere.

Clubs:

Green Street (Trolley Square) 600 S. 700 E. (Seven blocks east of you) Dope place for girls. Wear a tight t-shirt and you'll look the part.

The Hotel (Google, few blocks north from you) Cougar Town. Nuff said.

Some times, one of the best goals is getting a new job. I wouldn't mind a new one myself, getting paid more, not having to drive as far, doing about what I do now. But then I would have to come up with new ways to slack off.

I'm okay with more responsibility...it is the expectation that I'm sure they will have regarding me drinking the corporate kool-aid. Not a fan of that.

But actually I was pretty lucky...my boss brought up the possibility of compensation a couple weeks ago during the year end review but it hadn't been finalized so he couldn't make any promises that would be set in stone. He confirmed today that it is set in stone, that to expect it in my paycheck at the end of April...and this company is way too big to get caught pulling the crap that my friend is going thru. Deep pockets are wary about law suits.

I got a corporate card and I guess that means more travel. I'm in training now this week for some configuration management stuff...should help me get an engineer position next year. Also I signed up to an IT professional group as well which is helping me out a bit

Last few performance reviews have been great so I'm trying to keep it rolling.

And what is really cute is my one coworker paid 3.5K to another department of my company to get a site setup for him. After months of working with some guy in India, he was left with an awful site that was worthless. So he talked to me...within 2 hours (of which an hour was him telling me what he was looking for), he had a site that was 10x better than he could have imagined.

No. I am just about 16.5yrs. If I get picked up for command, I have 6mos of school and then next job is 3 years. So that will protect me to 20.

can vouch for the Bayou. Ate there when i was in SLC on a business trip a couple years ago. I ended that night drunk in a strip club somewhere in that area, and later had to try to find my vehicle parked on the street using google maps on my phone (literally tracking my progress by watching the little dot move on the screen while headed toward Bayou, which was the only landmark I had for where my car was)...oh good times.

I've never used SharePoint, mostly do my own coding. But sometimes I get lazy and like the ease of using a WYSIWYG editor. I know that SP goes well beyond older WSYIWYG's since you can share across multiple platforms/states/countries or whatever, among other things. So since I know that you are the SP guru, I know where to go if I ever start using it and have problems.

And yes, I am spoiled too. It's nice to get up every morning and not dread coming into work.

I used to travel when I worked for UPS and one of my other jobs. But now I just drive back and forth to work. Was never in the military, although I was recruited heavily in HS due to my ASVAB scores. Looking back I always wish I'd have went. Lots of family members are former and current military.

Where does your shoulder hurt at? Front, top, near the pec? Does it only hurt on certain lifts?

I have had shoulder issues recently and in the past. I am a big believer in Shoulder Dislocations.



If you don't have a stick, you can use a towel, exercise band, etc.

It's the weirdest pain. I'm pretty sure that exercise would be extremely painful right now. The weirdest movements hurt. Like, pushing the door shut. Grabbing the loaded bar in the squat rack and pulling it to the left hand side. Raising my arm up. But benching doesn't hurt.
My elbow feels like I have tennis elbow or something too. I HATE that feeling...

FWIW he pretty much HAD to buy this thing, he paid under 1500 for it and it's in really good shape aside from the motor (he has a hookup at the junkyard so knew he could get a replacement engine for cheap), and now I have another Jeep buddy so I'm happy about it

I have to tell you guys, hubby was taking me to pound town on sunday (AFTER tossing my salad I must add, and not because I demanded it, HE loves that. Butterface and all) and I felt a twinge in my hip. So there I am, getting jackhammered and all I can think is "****!!! I gotta deadlift tomorrow!! I better not fukk up my hip, I will be PISSED!!!"
