A lot of guys use a buffalo bar these days. It does the same thing to a lesser degree. I think Bill uses one at BBBC, maybe he can give you his thoughts. It's on my list of toys I'd like to have.

I am always stronger when cleaning it. My body is in better alignment and the rack position is proper. When pressing from a rack, I can get out of the position that seems to come natural from cleaning.

its interesting to use, definitely good for pec development, needs to use lighter weights to avoid tearing stuff...but lots of paused reps = speed off chest. I'm doing some wide grip work with my feet up to eliminate leg drive...also interesting. I can use heavier weight than with the buffalo bar, and I seem to get the same fatigue/pump/soreness patterns, might be some overlap there.

Congrats! It's too bad you didn't hit your DL goal but that's still a great total, plus a best lifter prize to boot.

when you clean, you involve your lats and you can get tighter, keep it tighter. racking it out of j-pins onto your shoulders doesn't require lat involvement.
More lat involvement = more weight pressed.

I always hang clean to rack position when overhead pressing because of this fact.
If what I've posted offends you, please feel free to leave your need for validation below.

Tried to do paused front squats today. Couldnt keep my damn fingers on the bar more than 4 reps. Like each rep they progressively got less and less on the bar until halfway up rep 5 my right hand was no longer on the bar and it slipped and crashed to the pins.

Front squats are stupid and I hate them.

I love how we always try and make assistance lifts harder because we think that makes them better for some reason. Recently I've being doing Spoto Presses to help with my power off the chest, paused, with my feet up... When is enough enough? I never even really tried regular Spoto presses, just jumped straight into this adaptation.

    Lifters are silly.

I only did them paused because I wanted to use less weight because it was my assistance movement, and for as much help with my quads and trunk stability out of the hole as possible.

But front squats are so dumb.
