No idea how it goes in pl but in bodybuilding supp company sponsorships=paying for the real supps nomsayin?
Then I feel like a sponsorship is hitting the jackpot.
On dan greens 848 deadlift some kid commented "When do you think pete rubish is going to surpass you in strength?"
I was just like, u fukin wot m8?"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

I almost scratched my eyes out when I saw that.
A lot of gym bros know Dan Green because in the gym-bro-world he is known as the guy that is lean as fuk and also strong as fuk. When you're strong as fuk but a little fuscular your strength is non-functional and they would rather be aesthetic than having useless strength to impress other males. But when you're lean and strong all of a sudden your strength becomes functional again. My training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=129669663

How far do you guys stray away from the main lifts when training strictly for strength? I'm not talking rehab or anything like that. I'll do curls when my bicep tendons hurt, etc... I don't care about that.
For example, for squats over the past 2 years the only exercises I've done for strength are low bar squats and pause squats. Hell, I think I warmed up to 135 front squats once, but thats it. Same with bench, I only do bench and close grip. Deadlifts, All I do is conventional and occasionally deficits. I can maybe count the number of sumo sets I ever done on one hand. I'm not strong by any means, but I've done 505/330/600 which isn't too awful. I have volume and intensity progression programmed and follow that, but I just do very little accessories.
I'm just sitting here wondering, overthinking things. I did pull-ups yesterday for the first time in about 2 years and I'm sore as hell now. And the only reason I did it is because it seems everyone likes them. I'm just wondering if I could be making ever more progress. I probably won't even change if you guys say I'm stupid and should only do accessories, because I'm a guy and I'm too stubborn.
Thoughts?

I always tell myself: If you have enough energy for assistance exercises after your main lifts, you didn't train the main lifts hard enough. Therefore I always try to do as many working sets as I can until the reps slow down.
However I think assistance exercises are more important for upper body than lower body.My training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=129669663

To be honest, another reason is that he has a distinctive look. You can pick him out of a crowd. That's not the case with many PLers. Dan's long hair, minimal beard, jacked and pale look explodes most BB and PL stereotypes, making him really recognizable. Most gym bros will faintly remember his name, but when I describe him, they're like, "OH YEAH, that guy. Yeah, I've seen that guy."

Did some benching today and decided to slingshot after. Worked up to 315, got one rep and bounced off the safeties, went for a second and got smushed. Hold me fam I'm so weak and now I'm depressed.

See, I have a set plan for the day. I don't add sets if I'm feeling good still. However, I'm never feeling good after working sets because I amrap my last set every time.
I recently started doing 4x8 squats once a month. Oh and pizza. I try to get a few reps of that in every so often.

I have in the past and I'm dealing a slight case of it right now. Two things have helped me the most. A: warm up riding the bike and cool down riding the bike. 5-10 minutes each time and if you do cardio on other days, ride that bike. B: ice that sumbitch. Icing it once after squatting or any other workout that pisses it off will help, but icing it twice after a workout is night and day different for me. I'll ice for 20 minutes then take it off for 30-60 minutes and then ice it again for 20 minutes.
Oh and use Ibuprofen when you have to. I typically only use it when it's really flared up.1708 total @220 Raw

I've had it in the past for a very long time. From Novevember 2011 to January 2013. It happened because of impacts and high volume training.
What helped me:
-Rest/ice
-Knee sleeves (Can't tell how much of a miracle these were for me)
-Fish oil
-Adapted volume until I got used to high frequency
Never looked back since then and I've been training a lot for powerlifting.Best Meet (Nov 2016)
