The wraps I can understand, but do you think that you actually get any lbs out of the smaller pair vs the larger pair?
You're also totalling over 2k, and even if it is a few lbs I can see why you'd try the smaller sleeves totaling like 1200 in sleeves should probably just get a hell of a lot stronger before worrying about 5lbs from a smaller pair of sleeves (imo).

Ever use one of these? http://www.amazon.com/Powerlifting-K.../dp/B00GA7Z002
I was thinking it'd be easier and more consistent. I was at a seminar with Kimberly Walford this past weekend and she recommended a knee wrap roller. Most of my lifting gets posted to Instagram - https://instagram.com/fayerjw/

No I don't get any actual poundage out of the sleeves. The poundage from tight sleeves doesn't come from energy transfer from the material, but from proprioception and better activation due to you knowing exactly where your knees are in space. This lets you push harder because its easier to stabilize/align the knee in space and lets you maintain your form better. I use the tighter pair with heavier weights because my knees is fragile and I get more compression from a tighter sleeve, keeping swelling out of the joint and keeping my quads activated.
I total over 2k in wraps...in sleeves I'd estimate my squat in the 722-733 range (based on rep maxes) on a 9/9 day I could maybe hit 2k in sleeves only...but I've never gone 9/9.
yea Boss has three, and I use them effectively. I still don't want to be futzing with them while I'm between attempts. I'd rather be breathing.
On a completely unrelated note, I'm gonna close the thread this afternoon and start a next part.
I'm having surgery tomorrow and won't be able to monitor the post count effectively.*Mods/CS will not, nor can they change your username, so don't ask*

Makes sense. Maybe I'll get a wrap roller for myself as an Christmas gift to me. I don't lift with anyone who can wrap me and by the time I get to the bar my forearms and thumbs are throbbing and I'm breathing like I just sprinted to the damn bar.
Good luck tomorrow, Hope it all works out. Most of my lifting gets posted to Instagram - https://instagram.com/fayerjw/

Oh? Idk man, I guess I can't know what people think obv. but it seems like raw lifters catch a lot of hate for lifting raw and I've just never seen people acting like diks because of how others lift lol... But I follow all of 2 people on youtube and 2-3 on FB and don't even have an instagram acct, and still to this day haven't seen a pair of sbd anything where I train so what do I know I must be missing out.

yea i didnt feel much when trying the sbds on and squatting with it and at 90$ bucks wasnt really sure as iv never wrapped or used sleeves. however i do feel like one of my knees hasnt been tracking or feeling different lately?
also what about those new slingshot sleeves?

Seems like a few people have more problems with sleeves than without. Brandon Campbell says the STrong sleeves (new ones) are basically the same as SBDs except for the straight vs. slanted seams.
Not sure about the "old" slingshot sleeves, other than I've heard they are closer to Rehands than SBDs.PRs - Sq / B / D / Total

I could see a deceleration of knee flexion due to bunching of the fabric, but the non-stretch neoprene wouldn't retain any of that energy. Without retention of the energy I don't think there'd be any acceleration of knee extension from the fabric unbunching.
I believe one could argue that any non-zero effect of the knee sleeve would serve to reduce force production by robbing downward acceleration into the stretch-shortening cycle and siphon off energy from knee extension to unbunch the fabric.

Gf got me SBD sleeves for Christmas last year, I don't even use them anymore. They're her knee sleeves now. I should ask her to buy me a wrap roller this year.

Sumo brahs: is there any merit to pulling with a grip wider than your arms straight down? Gripped the bar a bit wider today on a few working sets and they all felt much better at lockout, which was weird because I pretty much increased the ROM.

I pull conventional but I find the wider grip more comfortable since my knees push way out to the side anyway.
And a lot of sumo pullers who pull with a super close grip (think like duffin with straps) can never actually fully lockout because they cant pull their arms back and they just end up standing up but hunched over, or with unlocked hips.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC
