Depends on your size etc, post workout your body is basically depleted from protein and carbs, so personally I like to get a lot of protein and carbs in, around 100g carbs and around 60g protein post workout for me, some days even more depending on how I feel.

I used to listen to the bullchit people used to say about having only 20g protein post workout but iv seen better results getting over 50g now, do whatever works for you

This. Take 1g per lb of bw and you can take it whenever... but spread out throughout the day is the best idea.

Having to take protein within X amount of time after working out is a bunch of bull****. The protein just doesn't disappear because theres too much trying to repair muscle fibers / being converted to amino acids

Brillaint, thats cleared that up. Cheers guys!

Also I have pain in my lower back due to my form slipping while doing Deads (although i can only dead 100kg at the moment)

Ive opted for lower weight on deads to correct my form, and added rack pulls to strengthen my lower back. Can I rack pull say 80-100kg every 2-3days or will that fry my CNS?

Do some light deadlifts off of a 1 or 2 inch box. Focus on keeping your lower back flat.

I'd say just deadlift twice a week. you're only at 100 kilos,so start a little lower and work on your form. this will help you a lot more than rack pulls imo..

You don't need to worry about protein timing post workout.
