Hey guys...Srs question. Firearms training.
I want to take at least a defensive handgun class but I don't feel like I would learn anything I don't already know. Everyone wants you to take their first level course before you can take their intermediate course.
Have any of you thought you had at least a intermediate level of proficiency and found out you were wrong after taking your first course?????
Trust done, Suppressor paid for (Octane 9 HD), Form 3 submitted and pending....Now I wait.. Then it's Form 4 time.

Love the new TRd's but they are thin and have a crazy high back space. Need to run spacers. I wish mine had the 16" TRd's in the second pic. I love those. I have 17's and the tires are still decent.
Best part is, the TRD center caps fit these wheels I want and they are hub centric for toyotas.
But 1/5 the price. TE37 my favorite wheel ever crew.Misc Firearms Crew

You will be shocked at what you learn in a begginers course. Most people shoot at static targets with no other interruptions. Shooting in a class/match adds more to the equation. It pushes you a little more and can get your adrenaline going. Start at Level 1 and move up.
The main reason instructors want you to start in a begginers class is because they don't know your level and don't know if you are safe. Many will accept "proof of training" from a reputable instructor as a pass from their level 1.Misc Firearms Crew

Anyone here have the Glock factory night sights? I'm thinking of putting them on my G34 because I'm cheap

[QUOTE=pinhooker;1346621911]buys a match handgun, puts fixed cheap factory sights on it
go buy a g19[/QUOTE
I have one, brah. I just want 3-dot sights and I don't have a lot to spend before this weekend. I'm a decent shot with a pistol and on anything but a glock I'd take the stock sights until I get good enough to know the difference."I would rather die young from a gunshot wound than to spend the rest of my life walking around with an ankle bracelet filled with tampons." -Pinhooker, May 10, 2016

Do you know whose class you'd take?
I took a handgun class last year from Mike Lamb with Stoic Ventures http://www.stoicventures.com/ --- Held there right at metcalf .. he rents out one of those side ranges off to the side
Was a blast. Dude is legit

No idea, haven't even taken the time to look into it yet. For the rifle class it will definitely be by Kyle Lamb, Mcnamara, Vickers, etc.
I knew Metcalf hosted a lot of classes, I'll hit you up when I'm ready to take it.
Have you taken a rifle one? How tf are they even done in Cali? I'd plan to go to Nevada or Arizona for the rifle class.Misc Firearms Crew

Have not done a rifle class yet. Wanted to get better with the pistol, but taking the rifle class was next on my list now. However I've always wondered the same thing about how they're structured given the ****ing bullet button issue. Also the mags. Since we've got neutered mags, I used all 5 of my g17 mags with the handgun class that way everyone didn't have to go reload every 2 seconds lol. Was potato, but we all made it work
i felt bad. This one chick had just gotten her gun worked on (forgot what she had) and the gunsmith ****ed something up so it wasnt cycling. So after every shot she'd have to basically do a tap/rack/bang just to function her gun
Also saw some guys with 1911's having issues due to the grip safety and the user not getting up on the grip enough for the safety to release
edit.. my glock ran flawlessly of course
