It just sucks that the base models are still around 30k and if I wanted a diesel it's at least 45k around here. Though I'm not the market their appealing to.
I do need a truck though, I'm just gonna buy a mid 80s 3500 with the 454. Still can hall all my tools and supplies and I'm not paying the same as the mortgage payment.
Til then I have my cavalier lolWoodworking crew

The commercials are funny where they ask the kids what kind of pets each car owner would have, but trucks are stupid to own if you don't haul things. It's a massive waste of car space to be driving around with half your car unusable.
No one needs a truck unless you have some kind of construction business. If you want to ask me a question:

Cost aside, I don't see a reason for owning a mini truck. Only two trucks I've had have been 3/4 ton. If you're gonna get a truck, why not get the truck that will do everything you want and beyond in case something comes up?

With the cost of diesel being fukking ridiculous there is no point in getting a 3/4 ton unless you have something heavy to tow. Can't stand seeing people buy a brand new 60k + cummins and then lifting it 6 inches. Or the people who buy a 3500 dually with a 2 inch tow receiver on it. Brb power plant and frame that can tow 10,000 + lbs easily with a towing receiver rated 2500

Like what do you do with it?
I've been alive a good amount of time, grew up in a rural area, and have seen countless trucks. I rarely see anyone with anything in the back, maybe groceries, and that's it. Typically, guys who own these things keep them mighty clean too so I don't get the sense they actually use them for work.
Maybe I've missed something? If you want to ask me a question:
