Monday marks 1 year since I started journalling consistently. It's been a hell of a ride for me. As a recovering alcoholic I had spent a long time spinning my wheels in both real life and trying to stay in shape. Finding this place has helped me in ways I can't even really begin to put in words. The support in here as well as the AA thread and the things I've learned here have helped to change me. I've flip flopped around a lot but have stayed consistent all year in logging in nearly every day and getting my workouts done. I'm planning on being more regimented this year and keeping myself true to my goals. I'm truly hoping by the end of my second year here I'll be the proud owner of a 1000 total in the big 3 and no heavier than 180 lbs. That's my long term goal for the next year in here. Hopefully I can keep it.

So this way March 30, 2014@181 lbs

    March 27, 2015 @183 lbs

I can see a big difference in the mirror but not as much in the pictures. The main thing though is my lifts. While benching hasn't been great, ohp, deads and squats have all gone up a lot during this year. With more consistency next year will be even better.

Anyway, a huge thanks to all of you over this last year for your patience with me It's been a blast though and I'm really looking forward to another year and waaaay better pics next year.

Oh and I'm still on the diet. Let's not start thinking I'm changing directions again yet based on this post. I'll be riding this out for the full 12 weeks and maybe even 16.

    Keep the GOAL the GOAL!!!
Congrats on sticking it out for the year Dave! I can see that your traps and pecs are way thicker and you can see the thickness and density in your back. I love the goals for year 2 and I know you'll do your hardest to get there!

Deep Breath Paused Squats (5 breaths)

So wishiwasdiving had these in his journal and I just hate reading new things and not trying them He did them for 10 deep breaths at the bottom. F that lol I did them with 5 deep breaths at the bottom and that was hard enough. Holy crap!!

Yeah it's all good I've become a big believer in IIFYM over this last year. Also on not losing my mind on an off day. My biggest issue is usually not having a slice or two but having 7 or 8 I had some pizza, cake and a bit of ice cream....and some chips....didn't track but after a late breakfast and that I'll be relatively close to 2200 probably 2600 ish.

Great volume on those OHPs Dave and nice to press the 1pps overhead. Cool work with the BBB and the shoulder raises for an awesome felt pump ... were you mirin in the mirror afterwards?

So, when you do that combo, do you do a front raise, a side raise and a bent lateral right in a row, and that counts for 1 rep?

Nice work, plenty of volume in the shoulder session. That bbb has to bring the burn and pump. Could have done without seeing the pizza though . Sounds like a fun day with all the munchkins running around, I'll bet it was loud .

And then I'm gonna leave all you suckers in my dust

I don't know wtf. I really don't but I'm not going to argue with it. It is what it is. I'll stick to my macros for the next 4 days and probably end up back at 185 lol. The 170's are taunting me at this point.

Today is my son's actual birthday and I'm working this afternoon so today will be an off day unless I've got some energy at midnight which I doubt. Glad I got the session in last night or my week would be all thrown off.

Dude that 140 made it to about my chin and then laughed at me. As long as I keep that 135 in check I'm happy. I didn't think 135 was going to go since I struggled so much with the 120 tbh but glad I got the one mandatory rep.

Thanks Carl. It was pretty nice having a couple slices. That pic I posted though was a generic google search and looks much nicer than the pizza we bought

I always do the db shoulder work in front of the mirror. Keeps me going lol I think my wife is getting sick of me walking around flexing after upper body work though

Yeah you do all 3 moves. So 10 fronts, 10 sides, 10 laterals - that's 1 set. I superset them with the bbb ohp press just didn't write it that way for some reason. That trio gives you a hell of a pump and the db's sure don't have to be very heavy.

Sorry Tim I'm really happy to have the BBB sets back in. I missed them. It was chaotic in the house but most of the kids and parents we've known for ages so there was lots of adults around as well. It was a super hero theme so picture 8 boys racing around with swords and shields and capes beating the living sh!t out of each other lol They all had a blast though. It's a ton of work throwing these parties though. That's the exhausting part.
