My Jimmes are severely rustled. The worst part though is what the Officer who shot him said:John Geer, a 46-year-old dad of two, told police officers, “I don’t want to die today” before one cop shot him once in the chest. Geer, according to other officers on the scene as well as Geer’s own father, who witnessed the police killing of his son, had his hands up when Fairfax County, Virginia, Officer Adam Torres fired at him from about 15 feet away — as Geer stood in the doorway of his own home, newly released documents show.
“I meant to pull that trigger… It’s not accidental… I don’t feel sorry for shooting the guy at all.”

"Another officer who had been negotiating with Geer for about 50 minutes directly contradict Torres’s claim — as did four other eyewitnesses.
“When the shot happened, his hands were up,” says one officer, Rodney Barnes in the recorded interview. “I’m not here to throw [Torres] under the bus or anything like that, but I didn’t see what he saw.”"
If this is really true, then this article has just rustled my jimmies beyond belief.

EDIT2:
wtf?
"On Tuesday, Mr. Geer’s longtime partner, Maura Harrington, who is the mother of his two daughters, sued the county police, the police chief and three unnamed officers, alleging gross negligence. She seeks $12 million — in addition to some answers that she and Mr. Geer’s other loved ones clearly deserve."
So, she decides to break up with him to go after a married man(?) - and is the reason he died because she called the cops for throwing her clothes out on the lawn, which according to eyewitness account, did not assault or threaten anybody. Now, this sloot wants to sue for millions of dollars - when she, as the caller, had caused him untold misery and indirectly killed him?
**** me.
EDIT3:
From a report that the judge forced the police to disclose.
Yes, wall of text - but part of info SUMMARIZED.
There wasn't anyone inside the house except him when the police arrived.
A transcript here, reading it atm. Radio report claimed he had threatened to use his gun against the police, but had no gun on his body.
According to one of the officers:
He put that on object on the ground next to his left leg that was a gun in a holster - but had hands on top of his head the whole time apart from that moment.
He protested that the officers at the scene had weapons drawn at him and that they had no legal rights to be on his property - that he had not broken any law.
He refused to come out of his house and repeated they he didn't like guns drawn at him. But he did threaten to use his guns in defense if they shot at him. He then kept repeating the property transgression and the guns pointed at him while he had his hands up.
He said that he can walk back to his house and there's not "a damn legal thing they can do about it". He refused to get out of his house - stood on the door with his hands on his head.
He also seems careful of any sudden movement and warned the officers when he wanted to scratch his nose - which he slowly did after telling them that multiple times, then put his hands on his head again.
He also repeated that he was going back inside to get a cup of water - that he was thirsty and that there's not a "legal damned thing you can do about it". Officer Barnes kept offering to give him a bottle of water if he stepped out and sat on the porch.
According to officer Kushner, "all movements were contained at the threshold of the door. [...] If he took a step, side to side, it was in view."
And according to him, the biggest concern was that he'd go back into his house and grab weapons as the SLOOT SLOOT told them that he had 2 guns in his safe.
The officers all had their eyes on him, and his hands were still on his head (He was always fidgety, but there were no sudden fast movements and claimed he was getting more impatient and irritated at their [The officers'] threat), when the other officers heard a sudden unexpected "gunshot" and a redspot appeared in the belly of John Geer. He yelped, went back into his house and closed the door.
According to the officers, they then took behind suitable cover after he closed his door, but there was no response from Geer anymore.
John Geer had people in his house waiting outside during the police confrontation.

wow, so they pretty much covered it up for a year and a half?
To the ego, the present moment hardly exists. Only past and future are considered important. This total reversal of the truth accounts for the fact that in the ego mode the mind is so dysfunctional. It is always concerned with keeping the past alive, because without it - who are you?

what the ****. usually with these cases I'd say wait until the facts come to light, but it looks like the judge forcing the cops to present those facts are pretty damning.

Geer was not accused of any crime and had no reported criminal record. He was said to be upset that Maura Harrington, his domestic partner of 24 years, who is also the mother of his two children, had informed him that she was ending their relationship. But he was speaking calmly to police before he was shot.

So let me get this straight...
- Dude comes home
- Wife of 24 years and mother to his 2 kids is saying she wants to end the relationship
- Wife calls cops because he was throwing her stuff into the street
- Cops get there
- Dude appears to be quite calm when talking to police
- Puts his hands up and says "I don't want to die today" (confirmed by witnesses and a fellow cop)
- Cops shoots the freedoms out of this guy for no reason and later states "“I meant to pull that trigger… It’s not accidental… I don’t feel sorry for shooting the guy at all.”
If all of this is true. Give me one good reason why he should not be charged with murder.
What in the actual fuk, usually I feel there's more to the story than they let on but this cop just sounds like a psycho and needs to be locked up. How does this even happen? Does the cop have prior records of doing stupid chit?

The worst part is, they supressed this evidence for over a year and have only released all this because a judge ordered them to do so.
This is why the Police having too much power is a problem imo, sociopaths/psychopaths gravitate towards jobs with authority over other people, things like the Police force are heaven to them because they can pull chit like this and get away with it.
