If I had a say it would be hip hop all day, but I listen to whatever the gym is playing and sometimes it is f'cking commercials because they play the motherf'cking radio all the damn f'cking time!!
I tried wearing ear buds but that sh!t just gets in my f'cking way so I am stuck listening to what they are playing.
Sometimes they throw on some hip hop from a CD I guess and then I get riled up and my workouts get better!!On the list for Bannukah

I like arena type stuff. Led Zep, sabbath that type.
Also love listening to blues and gospel while lifting. just motivating for some reason."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Pandora Radio station built around Guns N Roses, AC/DC, Pantera and Skid Row. Every so often it throws in something like Journey, which although I don't mind it I have no idea how that is in the same genre LOL.
To those saying they don't like headphones I found these recently and they are awesome. No wires to get in the way at all and they don't fall off.

I pick one song and listen to it throughout the whole workout. I seem to better focus on what am I trying to do this way. The song is usually metal, punk, hardcore; fast and screaming are usually good. On occasion the song just doesn't work for some reason and I have to change it mid workout. Today's song was this
Yesterday was this

Loud
Loud rock and even some good pop music here and there. Has to be a jammin' song or next button gets pushed! Even on my workout playlist, I skip some when they aren't right for the exercise. Legs usually require heavy metal - LOL!
Small steps, small actions everyday. It all contributes to the gains. Keep moving forward.

I listen to everything from rap to bluegrass to The Who to Gordon Lightfoot. I guess it just depends on the day. My leg workout usually starts with something peppy for squats (Will I Am, Britney Spears, etc.). By the time I hit the leg press, Metallica has taken over. By the time I leave the gym, it's the theme song from Gladiator (no joke).
I'm surprised how many guys don't use headphones. The first time I used them, I kind of felt like I was underwater. I got used to them real quick, though. They help eliminate a level of distraction and are a necessity for staying focused.
