Keeping Shoulders Tucked Back with Dumbbell Bench Press

I've been reading that it is recommended that you tuck your shoulders back and keep your shoulder blades together while bench pressing to prevent ruining your shoulders. The issue I am encountering is that it is difficult for me to keep my shoulders tucked back while getting the dumbbells in position to do the chest press. This was putting more strain on the shoulders so I stopped doing the exercise; does anybody have suggestions or tips on how to keep your shoulders in the proper position with dumbbells? I generally work out at home alone so I don't have the option of a spotter.

while you are positioning yourself , put dumbbells on your thighs close to your torso, flex abs lift chest up squeeze shoulder blades , keep your arms close to your body and just slowly lay back without moving your upper arm. the open your arms to your side and bench, just practice it. it will save your shoulders and you will get better pec development that way
