It will be a much, much bigger deal if the league finds the balls don't have the official "mark" that the referee makes on it before the game. That would mean the Pats snuck balls in the game that weren't ref approved.

If it has that ref stamp of approval, its a lot tougher to sanction them. Maybe the refs scale was off, maybe the cold deflated the balls after ref approved them, etc.

Just saying, unless they snuck in balls that didn't have the official ref stamp, its tough to punish.

not sure I haven't seen it. Its probably a small ink stamping. But the ref puts some sort of official mark on each approved ball. I doubt they have time to check for it regularly during game play.

This is probably the biggest non-story ever. I don't care for the Pats and don't want Brady to tie Montana (don't want Seattle to win either, so just fuk this whole game), but this "deflategate" thing is so contrived it hurts.

Pats destroyed the Colts (who were my bandwagon team) pure and simple.

They said the balls are checked by the official 2 hours and 15 minutes before the game, and then returned to the team. At this point the team cannot alter the ball in any way. Obviously there is a lot of time between the balls being given back to the team and the start of the game so plenty of time to do whatever the fuk you want.

The biggest question still needs to be answered, which is whether or not the balls were deflated after the officials expected them?

If Walt Anderson goofed before the game, that is his fault. If this happened after they were inspected, then this isn't going to end well for the Patriots.
