edit: possibly relevant, news article on man struck by train. Unidentified as of right now.
[UPDATE 1/17 8:18 p.m.] A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train near the downtown Burbank station Saturday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred around 4:09 p.m., according to Sgt. Scott Meadows with the Burbank Police Department.
The victim, a male in his 30s, was on the tracks when he was hit, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear whether the incident was a suicide, Meadows said.
The Metrolink train that hit the man was the Antelope Valley line's 268 train, traveling from Lancaster to Los Angeles. The 269 train to Lancaster was also cancelled, according to Metrolink's Twitter feed. Passengers were let off both trains and provided bus transport.
The Antelope Valley train was cleared from the scene at 7:55 p.m., said Jeff Lustgarten, spokesman with Metrolink, and all other affected lines are now back in service.Last edited by codd; 01-17-2015 at 11:17 PM.

BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- A Metrolink train struck a man in Burbank Saturday afternoon. The victim did not survive, according to Burbank police.
The collision, which involved Train 268 on the Antelope Valley Line, was reported at 4:10 p.m. at Front Street, just north of the Burbank Metrolink Station.
Burbank police say the incident appears to be an accident. The victim was with a group of friends who may have been taking video at the time.
Some of the passengers saw the victim prior to the fatal incident.
"He had on all black. The train went by. I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand, something like yours. And then, that was it. The train stopped," said Metrolink passenger Victor Crowell.
Investigators are interviewing the victim's friends.
Passengers were transferred to buses to continue on their way.Last edited by buffuntcay; 01-17-2015 at 11:23 PM.
