SOME QUOTES:
¨America’s colleges are in serious trouble and that over a trillion dollars in student loans will put many of them out of business"
"For years the federal government has been subsidizing loans, much like they did with houses ahead of the 2008 crash. This has led to increased tuition costs and lending to individuals who will more than likely never be able to pay back their student loans."
"We saw a collapse in the price of housing and we’re going to see the same collapse in the price of student tuition and that’s going to lead to colleges going out of business."
"Many of those who entered college just five years ago simply can’t find work in a 21st century economy that’s imploding on all sides. What college grads are left with are massive loans that can’t be repaid and a room in mom and dad’s basement."
"That’s hard to believe for many future students of higher education but the fact is that nearly 85% of college graduates will return home jobless"
"Think carefully before committing yourself to tens of thousands of dollars in student loans just so you can hang out and party, because partying is the last thing you’ll be doing for the 20 years that follow your graduation ceremony"

Price of tuition goes up, meanwhile the likelihood of landing a solid job after getting a degree is going down, definitely not a sure thing like it once was...
Kids will be graduating college with a degree, with a monthly student loan payment as much as a mortgage, and only be able to land a ~30k/yr job... (Luckily this part does not apply for the misc)USMC '04-'08

Seems like it's only a matter of time. You have students graduating with huge loans and high interest rates. The job market for new graduates is not good and while the cost of living has gone up, wages are the same if not lower. The lending is really just as irresponsible as the borrowing so I definitely see this house of cards coming down in the future.

Good.
Most kids go to college now and just get indoctrinated with secular, radical left-wing nonsense. 90% of what they study has no real-world application. It's just them paying to be lab rats for a giant social engineering project from the left.
Maybe if everything collapses, a premium will be placed on getting applicable education again.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

He's an idiot, the girl who majored in gender studies and Peruvian coffee beans is going to do awesome, the boy who learned about women's history and also studied turtle shell distribution in developing countries is also going to be CEOing in no time. Definitely worth the 40k they spent and the probable doubling of that through yearly debt they can't pay.

Cuban is a very sharp man, I definitely put a lot of stock into what he has to say.(srs)
This has been known for some time now though. I got into AC a couple years back and it turned out to be a massive blessing in disguise for me considering I'm making just as much if not more than what a lot of kids with degrees are earning. We're going to see the Mighty Reds do the Frogs in Paris!

Good! I hope this phucking crash happens and sets everything back to zero. srs. All the manufacturing jobs are mostly gone in my town. Jobs left and right are just retail and fast food places that pay under $10. "When you go to college, you'll be successful" Here I am and I am surrounded by bullchit and am skeptical as hell of certain things that would probably not help me out in the real world for starters. Frats are phucking stupid, forking over $500 for friends. Clubs/organizations are pointless as hell. Certain professors are a load of chit according to ratemyprofessors.org and to add insult to injury, these folks get paid for $70k a year to teach. The examples of extreme left wing ideals come from dumb-ass students double majoring in psychology and sociology.

Not a problem for me, I think I've made a fairly solid choice in double majoring in post-modern feminism and gender studies....

$70k would be entry-level at most community schools these days I believe. I bet at most private schools, the typical professor is pulling down $100-200k.
The whole university system in this country has created it's own eco-system, full of people who are striving to become like their professors- who themselves have no useful skills other than teaching people how to become part of the same circle.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

school sometimes isn't really worth it.
my friend getting out of dental will be 350k+ in debt.
he's going to be paying 25-32k in INTEREST alone, every year.
at that rate, the only way to go to school and be able to afford it, is to be so fuking smart you have tons of scholarships, or join the military.
you can probably be replaced next day by someone with a degree. even if he didn't know wtf he was doing. LolRIP mainsqueeze530 1991-2013

I cleared almost 50K last year, after taxes. Pay is very good. Hours can be long, Uncle Sam had himself a field day on my overtime. But 90% of the time I work by myself, which I really like. There is a lot of bending and working in awkward/confined spaces and working with duct board sucks, plus you sometimes get that annoying customer who wants to stand over you the entire time you're on the job, as if they were the ****ing foreman or something, lol.
I was working dead end, loser jobs for between 10-12 dollars an hour. I had nothing but my GED. A childhood friend of mine happened to work for a local chain, installing/removing air handling units, told me it was good pay if you were willing to work hard and put in the hours and the rest is history. We're going to see the Mighty Reds do the Frogs in Paris!
