Berserk is also another must watch. If I had to recommend any anime it would be Death Note and Berserk. Didn't dig Claymore too much and this was also the other one that everyone gave praise, hell didn't ever finish watching it and I got pretty far. Besides don't really dig anime that don't have "real" endings which i'm sure most will know what I mean, Berserk being the exception~

I can confirm. I told my best friend who doesn't like anime to watch Death Note and he was instantly hooked.
After finishing Death Note, he asked me for some other good ones to watch and I recommended Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Attack on Titan to him. He watched the first episode of FMA and said to me, "Does it get better? Like a lot better?" He then went on to say that the first episode lacked a lot of story and that the alchemy things made no sense. I was like, "U WOT M8."

I loved it. I used to watch it while at work lol.

Just read berserk from start to finish the past week. Easily my favorite anime ever. Nonstop action from Chapter 1-338
Code Geass takes #2.
Death Note #3 but the GOAT mystery series.
One piece has a great plot but the pacing is so slow due to it being milked for all its worth. It still has over a decade to go. Naruto Shippuden was decent. Attack on Titan has pacing issues but the plot is also very good.
Yu Yu Hakasho, Kenshin, Ghost In The Shell, Samurai Champloo are all classics.Fates colliding. Love Undying.
I rep all 5'5 and shorter on sight.

FUUUU!!! Watched Death Note about 4 years ago..... thought I'd check out one episode to see what the hype was about, finished the entire series in 2 days. Was an amazing adventure the first half, second half was like a chick continuing a Blowjob after you already came...
Another series I marathon watched was the entire Initial D series. If you're into cars, watch it, its great.

Its so weird that everyone (including myself) loved the first half of the series but the second half is like meh...
Honestly, when I do rewatch death note from time to time, I get hooked and end up marathoning the first half. As if one episode is not good enough.
While watching the second half once was enough and its not part of my re-run.
First half of the Death Note was GOAT and it should have ended before bringing those two ****gy characters.

Death note was brilliant up until episode 18 I think it was. It's still my favourite anime to date, like fuark, epic epic epic plot. I even got my gf to watch it and she loved it srs, she's never watched anime before.

Death Note gets so ****ing chit after a certain point I am sure you will all know of if you have watched...
Really, really chit. Then it is just another 20 or so episodes of recycled "Thought" scenes with stupid characters and a chitty ending.
First half of DN I really enjoyed, the second half was chit enough to wipe off the enjoyment of the first half.
All in all, 2/10.
srs
And I love anime.

Death note is definitely the best anime I've watched, but still... the story line is so ridiculously over explanatory.
They literally spend the whole episode, explaining the episode, and it's not some deep profound explanation, it's the basic thought processes of the characters. A good story shouldn't need to use such a device to keep the plot moving forward.
Not bad, but ehhhh...
