Hey, all,
I've been lifting for about 2 years now. I noticed a lot of strength gains and toning at the beginning, but I haven't seen a difference in what seems like months now. I just discovered that I'm insulin resistant, have an inflamed (and therefore, weak) heart, have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (which causes pain), and my body resists/rejects niacin (which is a main ingredient in MANY preworkouts so I get sick if I drink them). I was intermittent fasting for a while and I LOVED it, but the doctor said that, because of my heart, I can't do that anymore. I'm not sure when all of my health problems started, but I haven't seen any change in my body structure in quite a while now and it has seriously demotivated me. I have a tiny muffin top (nothing horrible), but I absolutely cannot get rid of it. My diet is on point (I have to do mostly low carb since I'm insulin resistant) and I'm losing weight on 1500 calories. I'm relatively strong and my boyfriend (my workout partner) is a certified personal trainer, so it has nothing to do with my workouts.
I was just hoping to get some advice or some encouragement because I dread going to the gym now...and I want to love it! Like I used to.
