I train like its my last day on earth, I have visions of babyslayer, zyzz, piana, and other bodybuilders I like flash through my mind when Im inching that last rep, Im breathing hard, and panting.
Face with grimace, grunt, yell "lets go kidd" before I move some weight,
I think " Dont let this weight go till you get the reps in"
They gotta take me away in a stretcher,
My phone stays at home, i dont flirt with bitches, and I hate when people interrupt my sets, Dont like goin cold.
People have told me I look focused. I go in there with the mentality to destroy. Ill throw dumbells on the floor. I dgaf.
I tell myself, "this weights getting fu ckin moved, lets do it", etc

That reminds me of Dave Tate, I believe, in the So You Think You Can Bench series. I'm red faced and out of breath doing my warmup with the bar.
I think this is also the reason most women make no progress with free weights. It's too uncomfortable pushing yourself that hard, so they make excuses to stop.
That's nothing. I went blind briefly back in 2010 after a set. I stepped away and all the sudden my vision went blurry. Was able to sit down before it went dark. Caught my breath and it came back. Scared the crap out of me.

lol at all these people going on like they are lifting their 1 rep max for sets of 20 and sweating buckets.
I don't really sweat all that much or get too out of breath from lifting alone, i do from cardio at the end of the workout. When i worked out at home, i used to sweat alot from lifting in the summer, but at the gym theres decent air con. Though when I train legs, that is the one lifting session that does give me a sweat and get the ticker going.
Over time you build an endurance, so if you plan on having at least enough rest to have poroductive sets it will not always get you very out of breath.
Unless it's legs.

you're doing it wrong. once you learn how to be strong enough, a set of 8 on bench with 315+ will wear you out. same thing with bent over rows. do 315 for 8 on rows and you'll be gasping for breath.
it takes a lot more oxygen to move heavy ass weights for reps and once you get to that point, you'll realize what i mean.Squat 525, 495x5

100% agree, I think this is the cause of 99% of gym progress frustrations. People don't work at it. No stroke no care.
It doesn't matter though. Everyone will agree with you and claim they're "working it hare like u mayne" but their "balls to the wall" is not the same as your "balls to the wall". Takes a bit of a masochistic attitude to really get to the highest intensities.

There's a point in life after a good workout you gain this overwhelming aura of euphoria where you literally feel like you are cumming gallons into the infinite galaxy and nothing in the world matters. I only felt like in Football it rarely happens lifting maybe when I hit PRs and do HIIT on the same day.

well, once you establish good form and neuromuscular pathways, so you can do it right, you need to make your first set your max effort, all out set. don't hold anything back.
your first rep of that set should feel heavy, so heavy that you wonder if you can even get 6 or 8. then you get another rep. then another. you get to 5 and you can barely breathe, your muscles are burning but you dont quit. quitting is for losers and skinny people. today we're getting 8 reps or we're gonna die trying. you get number 6, it goes up slow but you can tell you had it under control. you lower it slowly and push with all yoru might for number 7. you know you have to get 1 more. just 1. this is the one that counts. the 7 previous reps were just foreplay to get to this final rep; the one that builds muscle. you lower it one more time, slowly and controlled, your vision goes black around the edges but you push. you push with everything. your body takes over, doing what you've trained it to do. that weight slowly rises off your chest, pecs contracting, burning, until it gets to the top where you rack it. you sit up, breathing hard, vision blurry but you did it. you pushed until you coudlnt push any more.
That's what it should feel like on every set of every excercise. And that's why people never get as big as they want to because they cant' make themselves go to that place in their mind where nothing matters except getting that set done. yeah it burns and hurts but it's supposed to. if it was easy, everyuone would be huge and strong.Squat 525, 495x5

didn't really read the thread but I agree with OP for the most part. On leg day I'm always hobbling around and can barely speak after a set.. drenched lol. Upper body days not so much anymore; I take it "somewhat" easy because I don't want to injure my shoulders, I get a lot of random clicking/soreness in them...I feel an injury coming but praying it doesn't happen.
edit: and usually on back days **** gets pretty intenseASOT Crew

Yes, OP! I always give it my all in the gym and sweat every workout. As a female, I find it all too common that my gender gets by in the gym by doing the bare minimum, or cardio; especially at the gym I go to where only 2-3 other women weight train consistently. Then there's me, sweating and panting like an animal, getting bertstared by people around me. I've had multiple people at my gym compliment on my workout ethic - but in my opinion, what's the point of training if you're not going to put the effort in? Pushing myself to the limit is half the fun.
