Misc Stock market Game 2015 (V2)

Made a new version so people couldn't abuse penny stocks

As so many people on the misc seem to be interested in the stock market and investing thought it might be worth having a friendly competition so I set up a virtual game on Marketwatch.

Everyone gets $10,000 (in virtual money) and the person with the most money at the end of 2015 wins. You will only be able to start trading from January 1st. I'm sure we can get a rep pool or something for the winner. Should be good fun and can teach those who don't know about investing a bit. Feel free to start after the game has started shouldn't make a massive difference

Some people were having problems working out how to buy stocks

To buy/sell stocks go into trading and click on trade on the top right of the stock you want to buy




Now either slide the slider or just enter the amount of stocks you want to buy/sell





When the markets are closed it will put in a deferred order and purchase them as soon as the markets open for trading.

Other things
-To sell stocks go into your portfolio and click on trade
-You have an up to $10,000 loan on top of the $10,000 you receive, you can use this for trading but are charged 10% per year so don't use this money for stocks you are gonna hold for a long time

Yup you start off with the loan, so as soon as you spend more than $10,000 you're using loan money

Berkshire Hathway ticker is BRK.A type it in the search and it will come up I just checked not sure whether you will be able to buy any though considering they are trading at over $200,000 a share lol
