I love the texas method, except for 2 things.
1) Power cleans- Nope, ain't gonna happen for me
2) Deadlifts on Monday? With low volume and low intensity? nope
how to fix said issues?
1) Don't do power cleans, instead of putting in another exercise, just simply don't do them
2) Do deadlifts on Friday for a new 5 rep max after squat and bench. Problem solved. 1 set of a 5 rep max on squats is not taxing at all. Doing 1 set of 5 reps on the bench press for a new 5 rep max is not hard either. Doing 1 set of deadlifts for a 5 rep max isn't that hard either. And your only deadlifting once a week, so it should be a problem
What is your guys's take on the changes I made to the texas method? I think this will work nicely for me

It's perfectly fine to place your Deads after your Bench on Intensity Day. Actually most people do that.
If you don't like power cleans on volume day then either do nothing or some other type of light pull on volume day(Monday). You could do snatches, rdl, snatch grip deads. Whatever you want, just make sure you don't wear yourself out for Friday.Squat 375x3

Ya I was thinking about doing barbell rows. I will only do those if my deadlift starts to stall and I need more volume to keep progressing.
Thx for the help bud, im glad other people do deads on Friday too and its just not me. Makes way more sense.
So If my max deadlift is 525lbs and my 5 rep max is 465lbs, than next Friday I will try and do 470lbs for a set of 5 right? Im starting the texas method for the first time starting this upcoming monday

It's fine to ask for advice, but are you incapable of reading on your own? Damn dude, buy a book, do some research. Come back with questions that can't be answered with 5 minutes and google. Obviously you like what you have come up with, so just ****ing do it.

You should buy practical programming. It'll give you information that will last you forever.
If I were you I would start 10 to 15 pounds under your 5RM so you can give yourself a running start. It's always easier to not get stuck than it is to get unstuck.Squat 375x3
Bench 285x5

OP,
I hate to be the one to tell you but you are not an advanced lifter. Intermediate programming will work for you for a long time. Of course none of that really matters, because the best part about a powerlifting lifestyle is learning to program for yourself through trial and error and research.Last edited by kmc06005; 12-27-2014 at 07:59 AM.
