Hey guys, i'm currently living at home and going to University and its gotten to a point where I can no longer make progress with the food my parents buy. I constantly get into fights because they don't buy enough protein dense foods and my mother thinks a banana and a fruit is what I need to progress. She doesn't want to understand and doesn't want to buy bodybuilding like food. I'm progressive strength wise but my weight hasn't changed, I don't look different, nor have my measurements changed. I also cannot get a job because I'm far too busy in school. I can't do anything, its so frustrating that i'm being held back from my potential. My goal physique is just being pushed away year after year, while my friend's parents are helping and understanding and he's looking amazing for the time he's worked out. **** sucks man. Suggestions?

You are 19, buy your own food, i'm in university full time, work 12 hours a week, and am a musician, plus i spend 3-4 hours at the gym (hot tub and steam room included)
i'm sure as hell not the busiest teen on here, but i make it happen.
Or plan b, sit down and have a serious, polite conversation with them.Instagram: Blinktwicealoush
In it for the long haul.

I understand it's hard going to school and work at the same time but if you want to reach your goals in life you can't rely on your parents forever. I'm going for Mechanical Engineering as a full time student and at the same time working as a truck unloader at Walmart 32 hours a week. It's hard but it is what it is. Just keep focused.

Get a job and feed yourself.
if you can't, try making them understand your goals.
If you they won't listen, then too bad you gotta eat what you have.My Powerlifting "Road To Manlet" Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=172129323

Bananas have protein in them... how much protein do you honestly think you need OP?
Edit- Too busy with school? Poor excuse, many people are far more busy than you but work and do more...Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

You have time to get a job.
I take 12-15 credits/semester.
Work full time.
Started my own company (devote minimum 15-20 hours a week to)
Work out 6 days a week 1.5 hours per session (everything from warmup to driving).
Meal prep everything in advance and pay for all my own foods.
And as far as your argument goes bodybuilding foods are cheap af.
Tuna?
Noodles?
Oats?
Rice?
Chicken Breast?
Beef?
As long as you don't buy from organic fru-fru liberal stores and keep an eye out for special deals you can easily afford a 3500 calorie bodybuilding budget on $70 a week if not less.I help people get certified as a personal trainer and build fitness businesses.
